Even when the team wins, he still manages to find fault and come off as a condescending douchebag.
Just amazing. Also:
" One of Sidney Crosby’s best attributes is his ability to facilitate the puck and what good is it if the players on the other end can’t put it in the net?"
This is the perfect anti-analytics argument. I thought that only shot attempts mattered, not whether they end up in the net or not.

Then why even use it as a measuring device if it doesn't guarantee it will go into the net? All this dude does, statistically, is show shot differential graphs and charts as well as the great, "Fun/boring" chart based on shot attempts. Now he's telling me that it doesn't matter how many shot attempts there are if they don't go in.

Since its been talked about a lot in the past couple comments sections... Can we apply this quote to Simon playing on sids wing or does he get a pass?

Here I can agree with RW and Grinder! When was the last time anyone could say that!
Hahah thanks! Yeah my guess is that his personality is going to be more like a cat. My 9 year old pug is basically a cat in a pugs body. Walks around on the top of the couch, purrs when he’s sitting in your lap, all kinds of cat qualities lol - j.boyd919
There was a Nickelodeon cartoon called 'Catdog' I used to watch with my daughter back in the 90s... you and Odin should check those out.
Agree and disagree. I think its very hard not to be a fan of someone that works that hard every single shift. I know what you are saying hes not unique but he kind of is in that hes got top 1% speed in the entire league and he literally goes 100% every single shift. I cant think of a player that brings that level of effort shift in and shift out. Thats not normal at all. - pens4life-66
I'll give JJ a little love early. He's still below the line 5v5 but not disasterously so and part of that has been his partner's so maybe his numbers would improve as Marino does. He's been really good on the PK. It's acceptable for a bottom pair forward. Still early, still willing to move him if possible. - Tojo.
It's not hard to see Marino's greenness showing, but it's also important to think about their forwards too. Sid makes soooo many 200' plays that help to get control in the D-zone and move the puck out. What would a healthy serving of him do for the beloved shot-attempt % of the pairing?
I also have noticed JJ trying to get the puck to the net more this season. I'm not pegging him as a messiah, but I don't see him screwing up nearly as much as the RW following.
Thought of that. Rust definitely doesnt have the elite speed tanev does. Still fast though. And we have all seen rust disappear for long stretches unfortunately. This goes back to Tanevs days in the peg as well.

Go take it up with RW on twitter. Nobody wants to hear your nonsense.

I think he does have that elite speed. All lower skill players disappear on the score sheets for periods of time, including Tanev and Hagelin. But they never disappear from the game completely.
Imagine if we could still have Hagelin...Rust Tanev Hags, would just be devistating to teams, non-stop pressure on 3 seperate lines. could have been great.

I find it funny people talk abut that goal against with Dumo-Tang out there last night...just a bad blunder by Dumo...or sh!t on them in general but fail to mention that f'n awesome breaking up of the 2 on 1 Tanger did later in the game, in the 3rd, to most likely keep it tied 2-2.
He has 8 points in 7 games so far...tied for 3rd (or he's 6th, I can never remember how that goes) in D-man scoring right now.

Marino is making due with his opportunity. I wouldn't be surprised that if in about two weeks when nearly all the forwards are back he goes down to WBS and is the quarterback of their PP.
He is the likely future replacement for Shultz/Letang. He should get some time leading a PP before the decision needs to be made.

I give credit when credit is due. That was an great play and I absolutely expect that kind of play out of him. But there hasn't been a game where Tanger doesn't have a cringe-worthy moment. I don't want my #1 Dman have cringe-worthy moments. I realize it's a high-risk/high-reward thing and people say that pluses outweigh the minuses.
Darren Helm.
Carl Hagelin.
Andrew Cogliano.
Michael Grabner. - Feds91Stammer
Hagelin and cogs I think are 2 perfect ones! Grabner i have to say definitely not. Speed yes but effort changed from game to game. I think my point is its very rare for a player to have a mindset to always go at that intensity. Wheeler even pointed out Tanevs effort after they played saying they all need to remember how he played there and match that every game.
