3 of them are 32 and Hags is 31. I can easily see Tanev having a better and healthier year than all of them. I'm on the Tanev bandwagon.

Age takes a toll on you for sure. Tanev will be fine. Jacko probably will have the same style of play until he retires lol Jokes aside he's been decent this year. Hope we trade at least one of 44 or 3 soon.

Yeah, he scored two goals, but they were on the PP so they don’t count.
- Rinosaur

Cool, he's got the same number of goals and points as ZAR did through six games. Maybe he can pick it up and catch up to Lafferty.

(Using that line while I can, it won't last.)

Curious to see how this Pens team looks against one of the oldest teams in the league. We should be able to skate them into the ground, but doesn't always work out that way. Would love to bank another win before playing Vegas tomorrow.

Yeah...if we always knew what would happen in hockey, we'd be really rich.

About Jamie Benn.

We could do something relly interesting if we acquired him. We'd have a great team for the next 3-4 years and be contenders.

Galchenyuk/Gudbranson/Kahun/Pick for J.Benn/Rights to Honka.

After this we could try to trade for a D man and trade Bjugstad or Rust (preferably) IF we wanted another D-man. Assuming we trade Rust and another roster player like Aston-Reese or Ruhwedel.

Simon-Crosby-Guentzel
Benn-Malkin-Tanev
McCann-Bjugstad-Hörnqvist
Lafferty-Blueger-A.Johnson

This is a pretty good lineup I'd say.

Don't complain about Simon on the 1st line. He just fits fine for now and could be sent down in the lineup any time. GRINDER will like this format.

How much roster and cap space do the Stars have? Seems like a lot of players and money going their way with less coming back ours.

EDIT: oh and Benn would play with Crosby...they looked right nice together winning Olympic Gold...

Is Benn still good? Feel like I haven't heard of him in a yr or so but the Stars suck anyway......That would be interesting

yeah I dont know if adding a 30 year old 10 mill winger is necessary. The forwards are looking pretty good (and cheap) with key guys out. Its the D I'd still want to tinker with.

Just seems like, buddy. Actually they'd receive only $0.3M to their cap space if we send Galchenyuk/Gudbranson and Kahun their way.

Oh Benn is good and would be here for CUPS. He'll be 36 once his $9.5M contract is over.

We sure would be a more complete lineup and hard to play against.

IDK, that's such a big cap hit for a long time. I'm in on the idea of adding a wing for Malkin, though I suppose we should at least give Galchenyuk a chance. If he fails, I wouldn't mind seeing McCann get a look. Zucker is still the guy I want if Minnesota goes into full rebuild mode.

We seem pretty loaded at RD for now. Honka would just be battling with Marino.

I love Jamie Benn but his contract is scary... $9.5M aav is too high and his contract takes him to like 38 years old. That being said, he is the type of power forward I have always wanted the Pens to get. Would be awesome to see him out there with Malkin.

Bjugstad, JJ and a 1st for Benn with $1m retained. If you need to sweeten it I'd add in PO Joseph for Honka or Oleksiak.

On the side I'd suggest the Pens sending Gud out for a mid round pick or a depth player with a $1-2M salary.

I don't see a lot of risk here. Galchenyuk/Gudbranson and Kahun is not a lot to give up (sure we'd have to add a high pick with it).

Jamie Benn is a damn good player and would make us much dangerous and hard to play against for the next 3-4 years easily. The window would be extended!

Based on his comments last night I think Zucker is looking for a ride out of town! Based on cost he would be the more realistic target to go after and would be a fantastic add.

If you get Honka the plan should be to trade Gud and use Marino and Honka in a bit of a timeshare (though I'm pretty sure that's why Honka wants out). Then again, what are the odds both Letang and Schultz will stay healthy...

I think I'd prefer bringing back Oleksiak for the bottom pair LD. I liked him and think he could mesh well with Marino.

I think you wouldn't want to do that. POJ is a pretty good player for the future. He's a Pettersson type

For sure, I think he is going to be a really nice player and I dont really want to trade him but the value I proposed in the trade was light. Taking on JJ AND retaining $1m is a big ask.

If Benn is available I'd think they want a true #2 center coming back and probably either some defensive help or a good defensive prospect.

Here's what I'd offer Dallas if they feel Bjugstad could be a #2 Center for them:

TO DAL: Galchenyuk, Bjugstad, 1st in 2020 and Addison or POJ.
TO PIT: Jamie Benn

Secondary move:

TO ANA: Gudbranson + Kahun
TO PIT: Nick Ritchie

Healthy Pens lineup:

Simon-Sid-Jake
Benn-Geno-Tanev/Rust/Horn
Ritchie-McCann/Lafferty-Tanev/Rust/Horn
Lafferty/McCann-Blueger-Tanev/Rust/Horn
