Pavelski at 7x3 isn't awful. Guy just came off a 38 goal season. Yeah he's older but he's also been the definition of consistency throughout his career. Since the UFA market wasn't exactly flooded with 1 or 2 Cs, I don't hate the signing.

Perry is almost league minimum for one year. Who cares? Play him or don't, no biggie.

Dallas is right at the cap and they'd have to retain a big chunk ($3-$4mil) to make a Benn trade remotely palatable so they would have to make another trade to free up cap space. A lot of things would have to fall into place to make such a trade plausible:

1. a team steps up that wants a 30 year winger with 6 years left with a NMC coming off a 53 point season
2. the team has to have cap space ($5.5-$6.5mil)
3. the team has to be willing to protect Benn in the 2021 Expansion Draft
4. the team has to be willing to give up significant assets for Benn
5. Dallas has to dump $3-$4mil in a trade in order to take on the retained salary

I wouldn't bet on all of the above happening.

If Lou makes a trade for Benn, Ladd has to be involved in that deal!

HAHA! I was thinking the same. Pretty sure I saw him in a Canucks jersey a few nights ago. Although at that point I had not realized he wasn't a Hab anymore.
