Agreed, there's been some really soft slash calls so far this year and a lot of uncalled interference.

They’re exhausted

This is what happens when you have a 3 goal lead. The Sabres finished the 2nd against Dallas at 64.86 CF%. Ended the game at 48.28% and they were down even farther before a burst at the end.
