It's Babcock, so not much will change..

Johnsson-Matthews-Nylander
Moore-Spezza-Marner
Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Kapanen
Timashov-Gauthier-Shore.

- PatC80

Or change everything!

Johnsson / Matthews / Kapanen
Mikheyev / Spezza re-placed by Nylander after the FO / Marner
Moore / Kerfoot / Timashov
Shore / Spezza / Gauthier

Here's what I would like to see while Tavares is out.

Have Nylander center the second line, move Marner to play with Matthews and Johnsson. Then Nylander is centering Moore and Mikheyev.

Any takers there? Or is that too much juggling around.

For 10.7 mil a year, Marner better be able to centre and carry his own line with scrubs

That's actually a very interesting option.. in particular if Hyman is back soon

They really should try him at center. He just needs to work on his FO and he can do it. He already knows how to backcheck and he knows how to pass the puck to his wingers.

Johnsson / Matthews / Nylander
Mikheyev / Marner / Kapanen
Moore / Kerfoot / Gauthier
Timashov / Spezza / Shore

Put the russian with Matthews, if he's the man then they can look at options to trade Nylander. That would free up cap space.

Would like to see Mikheyev on the Matthews line for a game or two. Be serious to see what that looks like.

Marner never played C in junior. Dvorak, Domi, Tierney and Horvat all did the majority of his London career.

Two 6-3 guys on a line. Mik goes and gets it. I think that would be a nice upgrade. If not, haven't lost anything, if it is, it gives the club a lot of options.

Marner hasn’t played centre since before junior. Why does everyone always think he’s a center??

Because that's where the NHL lists him:

It's probably that type of creative thinking that we'll need. To put that specific example in context - the challenge with Hjalmarsson (other than saying challenge and Hjalmarsson in the same sentence) is that the season is 186 days long, and if he's out for 90 days, you accrue about $2.4m in LTIR relief, but have to pay him $2.6m in salary at the end, so he's a net loss. If we're going to try and play the LTIR game, we need someone who is going to miss most of, if not all, of the year in order to gain the relief that we'd need to add salary.

Trade Willie to ducks for Manson, max Jones and Kesler (ltir) then get a backup + with that extra dough

I think the only way to do it is to get someone already on LTIR from another team and you wouldn't want someone who is coming back this year, and you wouldn't want someone who is under contract after this year. That guy is Hanzal on Dallas. And I don't know if he's actually done or not.

Johan Franzen?

What’s the max amount you can have on LTIR

JVR took a faceoff in the USHL and Burke declared him a centre. Why not?

poop that sucks, unlucky injury on a silly shot from Rielly.

Oh well, one good thing is Willy likely gets moved to 1st PP and I hope he stays there after.
