Defensmen pinch.
The Muzzin/Barrie pairing has been fine.
Rielly/Ceci have been horrible, they aren’t a good match whatsoever. - Santo_44
People keep playing Ceci as a defensive defenseman and it's weird. |

God. I have him in the pool. - aminnes
I got him in one of my leagues, too.
I still think he'll be good and I don't want to panic drop him too early in the season. |

Last night Matthews and Nylander coasted off while the caps went on a 4 on 2, then Barrie pinched. It's a mess from a variety of different places right now. Talent will get them points against the bottom feeders at this point. - aminnes
We’ll get better defensively as we go IMO which will help the goalers too |

But they've been driving possession and 5v5 play; they're in control of the puck a lot this year, just some bad breaks and poor goaltending.
Plus they've had high turnover this year, Marner/Tavares haven't been dominant yet... I could go on and on.
I'm reserving my judgement right now; there's just so much out-of-place I can't even begin to evaluate them as a whole. |

I thought he was before too
Boy was I wrong.
He’s actually not bad at making plays and passes.
He’s atrocious defending the rush.
Basically the exact opposite of what I thought he was. Sometimes there seems to be a player who knows what he is doing with the puck....then he sucks |

Because he's been used that way in the past and is a minute-muncher. |

Show me the rule.
From my understanding Ceci could accept the QO at any moment, regardless of what Toronto wanted to do.
Ottawa gave it to him.
It’s completely relevant, Toronto could of said we will never play you and he still could of signed it. - Santo_44
Again, they gave him a contract. He signed it. But the didn't front load it. They should have front loaded it so he could be traded. Must it be explained again? |

You are explaining nothing.....
Again, I asked how QO work.
I know for a fact that Ceci could of accepted the QO And the leafs would owe him a cap hit of 4.5 Million for the year.
What I don’t know is how that contract would be constructed. It seems neither do you...stop pretending like you do. |

Maybe they don’t plan on trading him, just use him like an ole dirty whore and then send him packing at the end of the year.
Here you go Mr Ceci, now go block some 1 timers on the PK |

So shoot themselves in the foot defensively for a season? That's a bold strategy. |

You still haven’t answered my question.
Either find the answer that you are pretending to know, or admit you have no (frank)ing clue.
How the (frank) are contracts constructed in QO? Is it the team who gave it to him?(Ottawa) is it the Leafs? Is it Ceci? Find me proof, I can’t. |

Barrie and Marincin ar the only minus d's on the team. Muzzin is 7 plus points higher than Barrie (worst on the team), through 8 games.
Without Reilly, Ceci would be an utter tire fire. Barrie also sucks in his own end. Badly. |

All I'm saying is stupid defensive decisions are a huge problem. All over this team. Driving play, scoring all that is wonderful, but as long as shotty dumb defensive decisions are made, it's all bubkis. |

The qualifying offer would have been 4.3. So they gave him more money, they just (frank)ed up and didn't front load it. Now they are stuck with him. |

Where do you guys get the idea that a contract has to be front loaded to be traded? Teams still have to take on his cap hit. |
