The third and fourth lines seem to have found their groove. But I wonder how long Nylander will remain on the fourth line. He’s starting to progress so I wouldn’t imagine it will be for much longer.

My favorite part of tonight's game was an after the whistle meeting of Wilson and Dach...It reminded me of the way the less dominant monkey would put it's eyes down endnote stare into the alfa....I swear that happened.. that #77 looked down after going to the net to avoid eye contact with Wilson.

I saw that too Bill, i’m not gonna knock the kid about that. I hope he turns into a player like Tom Wilson. If he’s smart he would’ve searched him out in the hallway after the game And Tap in to him for some advice. Tom Wilsons game out on the ice is on a nightly basis as a big power forward which I hope Dach will become is..... it’s either me or you, and it’s gonna be me! He plays over the line but that’s OK. I said earlier this morning “that’s hockey baby! “

If you count the empty net goal, it was +3 for Washington.

Nylander needs to be on a line with Kane and Toews/Strome....a line with Nylander and Kane can be fun to watch...Kane needs another playmaker on his line

I loved the third line, but the luster is rubbing off for them. Change things up, JC.

What is up with Adb? I mean two pp goals, but the rest of the time, he's tough to watch & all the broken sticks.

- I Am The Breadman

There were SO many broken sticks tonight. Was at the game and they all seemed to be that neon yellow/black CCM stick that DBC has been using. Did he change up sticks this year or something? Can't handle passes, whiffing on shots, breaking sticks, etc.

WTF? No, just no. You hope the 3rd pick in the draft turns into a 30 point guy? JFC

They won the game before, when they played much worse.

Actually played a decent game last night, but the "W" not there.

So, things even up a bit. If Hawks play like they did against Washington most nights, they will win their share of games. A little better on special teams, clean up a little on defense, and all should be OK. The team still generates plenty of scoring chances. The defense is MUCH improved from the poop show of last year.

Still early. Hopefully they can pull together a 3-4 game win streak and get up with the main pack in the division.

Definitely want more than 30 points a year, maybe a better hope or comparison would be a player like Rick Vaive or Al Secord. Or for that matter, Jeff Carter.

want to think this is just early season growing pains: alot of new guys, JC second season etc...

but pssing away home games is not a recipe for success and the poor net coverage is a huge problem; not sure if this is a system thing or what...but they are getting beat weakside consistently

Not bad either ,in his good days.I just want these guys to start playing with a purpose in the dirty areas in around the net. And not get pushed around , every Stanley Cup final, you get your big guns scoring timely goals, but on a nightly basis it’s your bottom six that are doing most of the dirty work and winning championships. Colliton had stated that his bottom two lines were the better lines the last couple of games.
,I don’t know if I consider Alex Nylander a bottom six player for the long-haul.
I just want this kid to develop into a top six players that also does the dirty work, the top six plays too much perimeter hockey. And for that matter, I Would like to see Brandon Saad start to play with more emotion and get back onto the top line with the captain.
Another guy that concerns me is Brandon Perlini, that kid has all the tools, I just don’t know what’s between his ears, and I did notice during the pregame skate the last couple of games, the extra defenseman that we’re healthy scratches were at least out there for the pregame warm-up. Where the (frank) was Perlini, pouting somewhere ? If him and Brandon Saad would pick up their games and push the issue to make it into the top six. Then the problem would be solved. You have all the ingredients right on your own kitchen table. No need to go To the grocery store!

Agree that the bottom 6 fwds have been better over the last few games and hopefully at some point soon the top 6 find their way. I do think they have the ingredients to mix and match and maybe moving Saad up gives you another guy who generally gets most of his goals in close.

As far as Nylander...based on what I'd read, I thought we were getting another Brendan Perlini type who can score but is usually invisible. Haven't really seen much of that so far.

Also, I won't tell LOOCH you're cheating on him with Tom Wilson.

Oil - +6 to Bettman .500
Ducks - +3
Van - +2
AZ - +2
Hawks - (-1)

Still very early, and perhaps / hopefully those “bubble teams” that the Hawks are competing with will come back to where they “should be” - but losing 3 of 5 home games isn’t going to get them into the tournament.

Hate to say any games in the first 10 of the season are “must games”, so I’ll just say the next 2 at home (VGK, Flyers) are “important games” before going on the road for 8 of 11 with 3 back-to-backs (at least they should have the goalie tandem for dealing with that).

Kane, Toews, AdB, Strome - should have enough there to get two balanced scoring lines - maybe Dach, maybe Kubalik (he gets shots up and to the net)....

Adb & Strome need to play together & I think Toews & Kane should play together too. Then find their missing pieces, because the bottom 6 is carrying too much of the weight.

I’m sure you’re right, bet he’s 240 minimum.
