For those under the impression that the #Blackhawks PP was “fixed” by Erik Gustafsson, you might want to look at this. I’m pretty certain he was still the PP QB in MAR/APR (when they needed it most). pic.twitter.com/OaSC8kAXCF

Well we did not play Boqvist and his time back in Jr. seems to have help him . I think the prospect tourney and the time in the A is pretty good lock at what we have . Sure let him play a few games with the big boy's , and he get's rocked again and lose more confidence because we were all curious .Seems like a waste ,let him go down play in WJC and other big games their get bigger and stronger come back next year, what the hurry - oldduffman
Every player is different. If the Hawks think see in his time in the AHL that he is good enough for a few games with the big club, then he gets it. If not he goes down. I'm fairly confident they don't take any of our opinions into account when making these decisions.
Boqvist clearly was not ready for the NHL last year and the option they had was to send him to London. He got better and now he's in the AHL. |

Though my preference has been to let him play at Center with Saad and Kubalik that line has played so well I wouldn't touch it right now. I'd consider playing him with Cat and Toews on the top line to give him a chance to acclimate to the NHL for a few games. Then maybe try him at Center for a few. They've got options should they decide to keep him around.
I think it's pretty obvious at this point they're gonna give him a shot with the team before they send him down - Savetheembers33
Toews/Kane/Dach
Strome/Debrincat/Shaw
Kampf/Saad/Kubalik
Very good top 9 if that third line keeps playing how they have been.

What if the Hawks play as well this weekend as they did against Edmonton? I understand the plan seeem's to have been lets give him the 9 day trial, but I think the third line has surprised, and that Kampf was orginally a placeholder for Dach. Well so far, Kampf has exceeded expectations (as well as the third line becoming a true shut down line)/ Kampf is holding his own on face-offs (49%), and has been very effective along the boards. I don't think you want Dach at the wing, that would mean learning a new position as well as trying to get his feet wet. If Kampf keeps up his play, and him and Saad and Kubalik continue to be effective, I think you have to send him back to Saskatoon. |

What he said, on a side note this whole confidence thing is overblown.
Either he can or he can't, Boqvist was overwhelmed with NHL speed, besides I'd rather give a player a chance to get spanked or overwhelmed at the NHL level, nothing wrong with a little humble pie and realize you need to work your ass off to play in this league. If a player comes up and struggles and gets sent down and never amounts to a NHL player that's on the player be it physical mental or both

If... and I mean if, Dach shows he’s ready and also ready to play center, then 3C is the ideal spot for him. That also provides the benefit of moving Kampf down to 4C - which is also more ideal as the 4th line could use him.
So, in that scenario I’d have no problem tinkering with the 3rd line. |

I don’t recall a lot of folks saying the PP was “fixed”, but many were saying it was “better”. However, perhaps it’s more accurate to say it’s “streaky” going off of the stats Osborn presents in his post.
At any rate, I still prefer Gustafsson with his shot and puck-handling abilities on the PP over any other defenseman currently on the roster. Seabrook has a fairly accurate canon-slapshot but can’t move and puck-handle as well as Gus. Keith can move/puck-handle very well but his shot isn’t as accurate (e.g. wide or shinpads).
So, I’d still advocate putting Gus out there for heavy PP minutes and then try to deploy him in limited/sheltered 5v5 situations. |

I don't know one way or the other whether the kid is ready for the show. I am curious to see him play. I don't think they should base his development on the paths of others - when he's ready he should play, whether that is now, next season, or the one after that. |

Honestly i don't either and i don't think the Hawks do, why they are going the route they are going, but i have to admit with Dachs hands and Kubaliks shot and Saads net front presence it has the possibility, as remote as it may be, of being a top line. All 3 forwards have size, Saad and Kubalik have strength, I'm very very intrigued, i mean a 4th line center looks great on that line. |

Yes when you put it like that it is intriguing .Really throw Dach has not stood out at the A or the prospects tourney so I think we may be getting a little out over are ski's .See what I did their lol oh the memories .
We shall see what becomes of Mr. Dach . I hope he makes me eat my words ,but Me thinks he heads down ,and hope the coaching staff are not being pushed by the FO to play the kid over his head |

That would be the prudent thing to do. Save the fan base the agony and disappointment of another failed first round draft pick.
A conditional 7th might be a bit too much. I think 'future considerations' would be more appropriate. |

Just over $7M/year is not earth-shattering at this point in time, but I agree with you here. He puts up decent points, but for a guy playing a lot with Hall he theoretically should be putting up more. Still young and needs to fill out a bit, but he is not notably good defensively, and for what it's worth, not great on face-offs. |

They dropped off a bag of pucks and a case of tape at my house.
Does that count?
Couldn't have been more than a dozen pucks tho . . . |

This is well put, IMO. I really do like how Kampf is playing at 3C complementing Saad and Kubalik at this point in time. But if Dach or someone else can do the same thing as Kampf but put up more points offensively, then it would aid the overall forward depth immensely to have Kampf killing it on the 4th line with Carpenter and a rotation of Caggiula, Smith, and/or a prospect like Highmore. |

Are there any teams that have the same PP QB for both units? Why not have Gustafsson be the QB for both PP units and sheltered 5-on-5 minutes? |
