I remember Carchidi getting mad at Hextall for passing up a sniper in the 2016 draft. No, not Debrincat - this guy. Who has 15 goals in 82 AHL games.

I remember a lot of people from this board wanting to get either him or Gauthier. So it wasn't just him.

Unpopular opinion, but Brink may end up being just as good as Caufield

What years? Going back to the lockout the Flyers are 17th out of 31 teams in GF/GP. Middle of the pack, and far from the bottom.

http://www.nhl.com/stats/...te,1&sort=goalsForPerGame

In SAT% they are 18th, so they have not been a team that carried the play more than average.

http://www.nhl.com/stats/...e,1&sort=shotAttemptsPctg

Last year they were 18th in shooting %, 0.1 behind the Cup winning Blues.

Shooting % lower for the popular players/stars of the league because they shoot more. So % gonna be lower. Again look at Draisaitl first goal. As soon as he took the pass and zoned in on a shot you had to know it was probably going in. That’s what a sniper gives you. They don’t generally miss those chances. Usually takes a great save to stop that type shot. When was the last flyers player that if they were in Draisaitl position on first goal would you be thinking the same thing? Maybe briers? Maybe Gagne? Yeah you might be thinking hey he can score here and hope he scores but there’s a big difference in the two.

For the record I’m not saying you need a whole team of these type players... 1 maybe 2 is enough. And I’m on record as thinking farabee definitely looks like he could turn into a sniper. Maybe along the lines of a skinner with better defensive awareness and better passing. But he’s young and clearly not there yet or expected to be there.

Not a sniper, just a guy who shoots over 13% the past two+ seasons and scores highlight reel goals for fun.

No. That's unpossible. When it comes to freshly drafted prospects it's crazy to wait until they actually develop before forming an opinion on how good they will be.

Haha the caps one was early too, 80% of those goals were all right in front. We need to get the PP going, lets get G back on his side. One thing i will say about the powerplay though is that I like that they are running some set plays, there was a nice one in Calgary where it ended up I think Jake and Ghost up top with the other 3 crashing the net.

It hasn't looked bad but their are some tweaks to be made.

The pp looked alright against Edmonton. Need to get this next game tomorrow night. Hoping they give hart the start. I think he'll rebound well

So they are making a player do a back to back...I know it's probably a young guy but you'd think they would want him rested. Please god no to Stewart in the lineup.

Well the Phantoms have 16 forwards and 9 dmen now so if they want to rest a guy tonight, they could. As far as I know Kase is the only injured guy.

They should but this isn't our first rodeo where we've seen the Flyers get embarrassed by a far lesser opponent. At home nonetheless.

Isn’t the first game back from a long road trip usually difficult anyway?

Oh I know. I won't be surprised if they lay an egg. First game back after a long road trip.
