Isn’t the first game back from a long road trip usually difficult anyway? - StepfordSam
It normally is but I'm hoping they show me that they've turned a corner and the coaching staff has had an effect and they're prepared. |

I'd say this. I'd take a Danny briere on this team any day. Man that guy could bury it when it counted. |

So they are making a player do a back to back...I know it's probably a young guy but you'd think they would want him rested. Please god no to Stewart in the lineup. - ClaudeFather
Damn...making a millennial work 2 days in a row.....barbaric. ( before you jump all over me, it's a joke) |

Haha, I'm just more concerned that Stewart has a chance of being in the lineup but since it's a center hopefully once is called up. |

I don't know about being stupid but a sniper per se is not needed. There is no doubt that they need more skill and speed in the lineup. They have a lot of the pieces needed but still need to add. Build a top line around Couturier. Build a good solid two way possession line around Hayes. They then need to build another scoring line with some quickness and speed. Players like Pitlick and Twarynski can make solid 4th liners but not in the top 9.

Stewart is in the lineup in case we go to a shootout again. |

Agreed, Coots is by far our best center, he needs to be on the first PP unit and playing with G and TK imo. I'd rather Raffl on the third line than Twar too. |

Reluctantly agree on Raffl....experience alone plus he'll chip in a goal now and then |

I know we just got trounced by Draisaitl and McDavid, but those guys have missed the PO's two years in a row putting up 40-50 goals. There's no correlation between having aberrant shooters and winning.
A team with a half dozen 15+ goal scorers is harder to match up against, and all your eggs aren't in one basket. |

The deepest teams are the best teams, look at how deep the Blues were last season. Having a sniper would be nice, but certainly not necessary. Once we get these lines worked out I think we will have a strong team top to bottom. |

Agree 100%. I want a team with depth. 3 good scoring lines and a puck pressure 4th line. Not a top heavy team.

STL got him on the cheap too, how in the world could you watch him every night and determine that your team would be better off without him. |

What happened to
28-14-11
25-13-93
??
If we’re lucky enough to get Patrick back, Lindblom should be just fine next to him. |

They needed to move him far, far away from Tim Horton's. Buffalo was not an option. |

To ice a lineup with Pitlick at 3RW and Stewart at 4RW when he has all that talent available in the AHL is a brave move on Fletcher's part. If they don't score some goals and beat the Stars it could get ugly in a hurry.
He could have even brought up Myers and given him a game on the 3rd pairing after demoting Bunnaman. |

Love the top 6, praying they call up a center, push Stewie out, and switch Raffl and Pitlick. |

Probably no one was surprised to see Bunny get sent down. The real surprise was that he got those NHL games. That experience can be really valuable for him moving forward. I think he gets “most improved player” from last training camp to now. He opened eyes, and he has solid potential. I hope he laces up those work boots and goes right to it for the Phantoms.

I remember a lot of people from this board wanting to get either him or Gauthier. So it wasn't just him. - jmatchett383
seriously tho people act like every pick they want would have been a great one and they never want a player that ends up not panning out |
