thats how i feel about the couple pending ufas. Now Sobotka with term is a horse of a different color.

But shedding the celery is important too.

Sobotka with term? He's a pending UFA.

I was told that this team would be garbage because Botts didn't do enough.
Is that not the case anymore?

Wow Mahomes could be finished this year, depending on the MRI results, Dislocated Knee Cap, could be a 2 to 4 week, or if he needs Surgery could end his season. MADDEN CURSE. If that does happen, do the Bill's go for it and make a trade or 2

curious as well
also with Indy and Houston as now there is a legitimate chance that div winner gets a home game and a bye

That one hurts, paying a guy 6 5 mill a year to play on your 4th line

It hurts, but it hurt a lot worse a couple weeks ago when it looked like he didn't belong in the NHL.

very much..... my hope as a pure homer that he plays well in the .... playoffs

15 pts in 24 playoff games for the Islanders I would 100% take close to that

Didn’t address the goalie position and that cost us the Anaheim game...apparently.

I was listening to an ex-NFL team doctor on the radio earlier this morning. He pretty much said he expected it to be a 2-4 week injury barring something unforeseen in the MRI.

Yeah, that is what I heard. Dislocated my Knee Cap playing baseball it hurt like a female dog, didn't need surgery but it took about 4 weeks to feel comfortable again

That is good to hear. Glad he will be okay.

He also needs to get his ankle healthy too.

When he comes back, he should be 100%

I said we'd make the playoffs if Mojo got 55-60 points, which is happening atm. Now get a real RW

Just looked at the Sabres cap situation.

How isn’t Bogos cap hit of 5.1 not worth more cap space?

Maybe he needs to be on the LTIR?

- Sabretooth9

Your cap hit is not removed from the cap space unless you're on LTIR. Even then, there's a specific formula to calculate how much cap relief you receive from that particular player being on LTIR. Apparently, either the Sabres weren't interested in placing him on LTIR, or he was deemed healthy enough to surely return in-season. Regardless, the cap situation was successfully navigated, and next year coupled with raises, potential trades and a sprinkle of UFA signings, this team will be close to the cap again. Realizing a good slab of cap space must be reserved for Reinhart and Dahlin collectively, Botts will, and I'm sure he will, need to be smart about what he takes back onto this roster.

I hope they don't get to the point of actually needing to shed Okposo.

Right on. Short of it, there's no benefit from putting Bogo on LTIR when you have no immediate need for the relief.

1st period -

Sobotka has the puck just outside our blue line: Skinner is alone between the blue line and center ice. Sobotka doesn't even try to make the pass. There are going to be games that line is invisible because we have 2/3rds of a line

- jcragcrumple

I hear ya, but can't have an allstar at every position. I absolutely hated Sobotka last year, but I think he's okay for that line. He has very limited offensive ability but his physicality does open up space for the line. Not a glowing recommendation, but, I don't think he needs replacing either

Interesting, decisions are just gonna get tougher for the Sabres. Sooner then later Botts is gonna have to make a move. Joker has just played 2 well, Scandella is playing good. Gonna get interesting to see what happens
