Yeah, if Smith or Haley are moving up from the 4th line, its bad. If we are sitting Skjei I want Lindgren. That dude has some nasty and he is good on D.
- mdw7413

Yea I wouldn't mind Lindgren, Smith hasn't been bad though just really don't want him at forward anymore. Wouldn't mind him getting a game at D

Also AMC has an all day Friday the 13th marathon on

Is no one going to talk about Quinn's player deployment? I mean, I understand wanting effort, but you cannot tell me having Smith on the third line instead of Chytil or Kravstov, is better for this team in the present and long run. Whether you think Kravstov has earned it or not, playing Smith on the third line over him and Chytil is not the answer.

how to be a homer 101. Clear as day in the video link I posted that Hall doesn't leave his feet to make the hit. His feet come up after the contact has been made, because physics ya know.

Fox gets scared and falls backwards (His Franking Knee is almost on the ice as contact is being made)

And if you watch the video and click play/pause rapidly and scrobble through the slow motion, Halls shoulder makes the contact not his elbow.

48.1 Illegal Check to the Head – A hit resulting in contact with an
opponent’s head where the head was the main point of contact and
such contact to the head was avoidable is not permitted.
In determining whether contact with an opponent's head was
avoidable, the circumstances of the hit including the following shall be
considered:

(iii) Whether the opponent materially changed the position of his body
or head immediately prior to or simultaneously with the hit in a way
that significantly contributed to the head contact

Welcome to the NHL Fox

You better hope that Wilson or Gudas doesn't offer up a nicer welcome to Hughes.

What concerns me, is no one laid a finger on Hall the rest of the night. I’m not blaming any one player, it’s a group failure. The team needs a damn Captain.

I still have faith in Quinn/Gorton. My only concern is what looks like contradictory actions from the outside:

Signs Haley who takes away a roster spot from young player...talks about how great it is that trading Namestnikov frees up space for a younger player

Kravstov has a decent pre-season...is sent down in favor of signing Haley

Haley in the lineup as an enforcer but not sent out after Hall?

Effort and accountability is everything and no one is above it...we need to be tough to play against...we need to have some snarl in our game >...Lemieux is a healthy scratch but CK, Buch, Strome, and Skjei are still in the lineup?

Kreider annoys me. The guy could take a game over with his strength and speed, and yet the only time I noticed him in 4 games is on the PP. I have no idea if he is even playing even strength

I have no idea what crime against humanity Lemieux committed, but his not being in the lineup was puzzling.

Watching the game last night I was struck by the fact the AV wanted a an up tempo speed team, but they never really gave him the players for that style. Now Quinn wants to play a in your face, tough on the puck, stRong in the corners. Trouble is, he has a roster full of finesse players. So, he’s left to make it work. Talk about puzzling.

Principal point of contact is head, even if he ducked, which if he did, was minimal, but contact was to head by elbow with no attempt to play the puck. That's why a call should have been made.
- airjan23

Wasn't a roughing call made? Fox held the puck too long, panicked, and bailed on the hit. If he doesn't try to duck out of the way he still gets rocked but Hall's forearm hits him in the chest not the head.

Bingo, yes, minor, but point of contact to head might have warranted a major. He didn't substantially duck and when is leading with elbow allowed? Plus, he didn't try and make a play on the puck at all.

Well we didn't tell you take Brendan Lemieux out of the lineup...
I always complain we didn't draft him.

Seriously though it's a problem on a lot of teams. I complain about the same thing with the Devils. Even when people run the goalie they don't respond appropriately.

He doesn't have to make a play on the puck, and while it's possible that there may have been contact with the head regardless, it certainly didn't look that way from the views I've seen. I think a minor is appropriate.

Regardless, the kid still panicked after seeing Hall coming from about 15 feet away. He'll learn.

Skjei got a smirk like "I can't believe I got that contract last year."
