Watching and posting live isn’t good for the way the team is playing. I hope chytill gets the call soon, they really need his skill. If this team is going to struggle I would at least rather the young kids play and go through that learning curve now |

Who is out there that could possibly come in and be a #2 center on this team? That’s the real problem when it comes to the forwards. Howden is not a #2. He is a good fit for that #3 spot. Chytil is no where near ready to take on that type of responsibility in my opinion. Let him continue to build confidence in the AHL.
I think we all were extremely spoiled with how they came out against a very good Winnipeg team opening night and won. Ottawa isn’t very good so that’s a game we should have won. They went to Prudential to play a very inspired Devils team who hasn’t won a game all season. That was a difficult game to match that tenacity/desperation with the time off. Going into Washington who is a Stanley cup contender IMO, so it’s hard to get on them for another 5-2 loss.
Defensively they look lost. Trouba playing 25 minutes a night makes me cringe to be honest. This is a team rebuilding and we are going to drive this guy into the ground. He is miles apart from anyone else. The next best defenseman on this team is Fox from what I see on a nightly basis. Ruff needs to go and we need to bring in someone else. That’s the change that needs to happen sooner rather than later. Don’t get me started on Brady Skeij. If I am not mistake wasn’t Ulf Samuelson the D-Coach when he had that great rookie season? |

I wouldn't mind Shesty getting called up for a game here and there to give him a taste. In two months he's going to be 24 years old, this isn't a kid. |

Hate so say it BUT we are looking like Fla. 2-3 yrs back or Edm. last 5yrs ...with all those 1st rd picks & top young talent and no clue how to win in NHL. With a ton of youth that we have to sort out & determine whos gonna be the keepers & whos going to be traded out for the talent we need for us to get to PO's,and not enough vet talent to support or supplant what is going on the ice ...LOSSES ,not WINS ,Its going to be a long season.
New D Fox is solid & potentially a big timer .Hijak ..I D K yet ,seems to get hard alot not enough snarl or grit, BUT STAAL is killing us ,WHy play Smith on wing or at all , should be playing D better than Staal....Shey ,Trouba ,A dA , moments but D is a group thing , it aint there with a weak link like Staal ,try Lindgren too asap ,I said he and hijak should be splitting time .
Wings : vets who aint showed up after 5 gms (2-3) 3 gm losing streak already
Krieds,Strome ... nothing ...
Fast a lil ,Lemeuix gets bad rap for penalty on him getting near Mc D
Howden ,Andersen , not much ... Buchny ,should be better being on top line
K K will be there soon ,inevitable ..
Overall too choppy a start of games to evaluate fairly, but trends are showing up and
1. need 6 d men to show up not 4 .5 and the other 1.5 is bad decisions or play
2. Not having a 2 c to build a top attacking group is vital , big drop off after Zbad & panarin
3rd & 4th lines are non descript? they dont do anything , no identity ,not significant ice time, seem to be holding on till top line gets back on ice .. i think the rotation is every other shift or every 3rd shift for top line ...
Very early but as built NOt gonna be a winning hockey team ,watch out for the moves we"ve all outlined needed ,if we win they wont make moves as fast BUT right now I'm sure there scouring the league for other fledgling teams in need of a shake up..
Dallas for sure ,Minny ?
Winny has so much frontline talent & not enuf D but we will see , others are lurking
1pm sunday sucks too ... L G R .... |

I think we need to split up Panarin and Zibby. Have Panarin carry Strome/Howden on the top line and let Zibby be the “2C”.
Panarin - Howden/Strome - Kreider
Buchnevich - Zibanejad - Kakko |

Or just bring Chytil up and have him center Buch and Kakko
Also think Hajek has actually been better than Fox. Fox turning the puck over a lot |

I would support that , need alot more balance to there top 6 ...
but is #1 is with Z's line OR do they share #1 match ups & duties ?
Chytl? Not rushing is smart , leave him be for a month ? make sure he ingrains the habits needd to play center in NHL all the time in both ends
bottom 6 needs an identity ,either scrappy gritty or possession lines that keep other teams from sustaining long times in our zones cycling and attacking..
Best D is an O ,if you keep puck out of your own end its easier keeping it out of the net , dont have to score but control; center ice and keep puck moving away from ur end ,swift outlet play , low turn overs = success , we dont have much of that seems we back up well into our own end & let sustained play fester in our end ...
lots to fix : 5 gms : remember St Lou till Jan. :L G R |

Howdy is looking more like A Doody than a NHL center ,
maybe a trip to Conn. & Boo comes back to get his last shot ?
playing BIG in Conn & Howdy aint
gotta give sum tough love ,frankly i dont know how he has dodged the focus & what seems like non descript play , sound fundys but lacks size ,speed ,tenacity ..scoring
I D K but maybe he aint gonna stick as we move the needle in talent & play |

If Shesty proves to be ok, Georgie is worth a lot in a trade. Leafs would probably pay ~ a top6 player and a good prospect. |
