But it easy for some pilots to record a balloon that looks like it's going fast due to an optical illusion, or for someone to create some grainy UFO footage.
I just believe the answer to the Fermi paradox of why haven't we been visited if we can say it's likely there are many, many other lifeforms in the universe (which I believe) is that the distances are so vast and lightspeed really is totally unapproachable so those distances can never be crossed. So civilizations all over the universe have a good idea that the others are there, but they can never meet.
Just my take, I'd love it if the saucer would come down and blow up the White House, that would rule. I'm cheering for it, but...I'm also a Leafs fan. - Zezel
You’re speaking from the perspective of someone who only understand current technology, almost smuggishly implying that other lifeforms couldn’t possibly figure out something we haven’t already, like how to travel > speed of light, or discovered wormholes etc..
I don't think it is aliens but I do think it could be aliens lol. The possibility isn't zero. Most likely equipment malfunction, some sort of optical illusion type deal, swamp farts, or some sort of secret military tech that the regular military is unaware of. It's still fun to think about though. - daeth
The fact you’d even mention “swamp gas” as a possible explanation goes to show how powerful misinformation campaigns are.

it COULD be aliens
I'm more willing to bet that it's the US gov that's willing to let people entertain outlandish alien encounter theories rather than risk exposing secret projects that they need to test somewhere (somewhere being over sovereign territory that they control)

Nah.. I’ve toned down the unnecessary hate. Life’s better this way.
Speaking of aliens though, so that pentagon footage is real, eh? Been listening to all the major podcasts talk about it.. seems legit.. - Arctic_AARDVARK

But the point is that if that technology is possible, why aren't there lots of different aliens contacting us? The universe should be teeming with life. So either thay hide themselves, or it is not possible, or they don't bother with us. It could be that every civilization destroys their own planet and themselves before they can even really try interstellar travel. That appears likely with us, we'll return to using sticks and stones and not even get close to wormholes or lightspeed.

serious question
where does the video footage originate from?
and why, if its military (and not 50 years old) is the video so crap? - BorjeFan4Ever
It's the infra red camera. They talked a lot about there being no directional heat escape from the craft so it couldn't be any propulsion system we have currently. Also, the white light around the craft that makes it appear like it's glowing...because it's infra red...shows the the craft emits cold which has something to do with anti-gravity propulsion.
It's suppose to definitely be a craft with incredible speed and maneuverability, nothing like our current tech. Went from 60k ft to 50 ft above the water in seconds...don't quote me on the exact numbers but it was something very close to that...and just that one maneuver would crush a human body.
A lot of unexplainable things with that footage. Very interesting.
I'm personally in the club of there are things/beings that exist that we don't know about but that the government probably does...kinda almost certainly does.
(I like that story so much better than this universe is empty, sounds too (frank)ing lonely and hopeless.)
