Pretty good team but Dion the pylon instead of Kaberle is a mistake.

Isn’t 1967 the same thing as « all-time »?

Dion? Morgan Rielly has more games more points and is only getting better. Poor choice. If not him then Kaberle for sure. I’d even take Dmitri Yushkevich over dion.

Allan Stanley is a huge omission - he should be there over Phaneuf. I'd also take Tomas Kaberle over Phaneuf and possibly Turnbull. If you really want to reach back, Harry Cameron would be a good choice.

Hard to argue with the forwards.

Phaneuf? Really? Tomas Kaberle would have been a much better pick. Heck, Brian Glennie, Brian McCabe, Jaimie MacCoun, and about a dozen others have made a greater impact than Phaneuf just in the last 50 years. I rank Phaneuf about equal to Jim Benning.
Other than that - How do you have an all-time team without Wendel Clark?!
Insane!!

I'll take this opportunity to remind people here that Blake was receiving cancer treatment during most of his time with Toronto.

Don't understand.

As of this morning Tankathon has the Leafs penciled in at 15th for the draft lottery draw. They are not playing at the pace that gets them into the playoffs and somebody wants to talk about the "best of all time" Leafs.

Perhaps it is a useful exercise. We might not notice the guys with their hair on fire.

Very weird roster. All proven guys who played full careers, many HOF. Then a guy who is great but very young and has't really proven anything yet. And then Phaneuf. WTF?

Yeah - seems foolproof to make sweeping judgements about a team 8 games into the season.

I'm still kind of worried they should have picked Laine.

Can you imagine what this team would look like with Tyler Seguin and Dougie Hamilton on the roster? I'm still losing sleep over this ffs.

Phaneuf? You're kidding right? Even if you had a pilon quota to make, Bryan McCabe was much better

"McDavid's career scoring trajectory doesn't just put him among the best dozen or so all-time greats. It could put him in a tier only occupied by few other players."

Ottawa should've picked McDavid.

Still think Lanny Mcdonald should be on that list. He scored 500 goals and over 1000 points as a winger in the NHL. He was a terror when I was a kid, riding shotgun with Darryl Sittler.

well, it would be weak because it would not include Matthews or Marner... probably not even Rielly.
