Win or lose
This team is playing consistent, w/mistakes/ but consistently a distinct style of Hockey
They are playing very well on a night where Jack is not Jack.
Having a team playing for each other is more valuable than fancy stats.
I've been very impressed with their 3 game Road trip in California. When they struggle they learn, unlike last year where it was just spinning wheels.
Concerning Casey's 3rd goal on this trip, It should be noted that the puck actually struck his stick below the crossbar, this is shown by the trajectory of the puck "elevating" after striking his stick, How the broadcasters don't have people on these replays watching them as well as viewers at home is baffling. |

Not really 23 has had some chances and has been a presence in front of the net on the pp. Olofsson drew the last penalty and almost scored on it. Game could go either way but they’re playing a perfect road game so far - turbo044
I think he's been really soft in front of the net so far this year. Everyone is going to start pressing us hard up top on the PP. They really need more from him to counter it.

Casey Mittelstadt has 5 primary 5 on 5 points.
For his TOI that’s really, really good |

Eh. They’ve been legit non existent 5 on 5. If Eichel isn’t carrying it and distributing they are legit not doing a thing - sbroads24
Wrong ^^
They are more dangerous when Jack is flying up and down the ice but they have been doing well against a perennial playoff team in their building. San Jose has scored 13 goals in the past 3 games |

23 and 68 have a combined 1 shot on goal.
They’re on the first line

What is he wrong about? They aren't creating many good opportunities 5v5. Olofsson hasn't been able to get his shot off at all.

Ahh good analysis/ if the puck went up after the tip and still went in the goal the stick had to be below the crossbar. I was listening to Ray who was saying the stick tipped the puck over the crossbar and was a high stick- poor Rob Ray |

Eichel beginning to shoot consistently instead of trying to force a pass on the power play would really help. |

I really believe he is one of the many players that takes a couple years to figure out their whole game. That's why last year was so important yet frustrating. They instructed him to focus on his 100 ft game as a natural Center and getting in better physical shape was a definite must during off season.
Casey has always had mad skill level, question was, can he play Center in the NHL which requires a lot more. Does he have the drive and determination to be patient and learn. I believe he does, and I believe this team is good. |

I take that back - replay shows he tipped the puck down. We’ll take it |
