I think you’re misinterpreting where that envy was directed, imo. It was from what they were doing building a prospect pool. The great drafts they were having. That won’t equate to a competitive team immediately.

Signing Panarin and trading for Trouba is part and parcel of an original six team in a demanding market to be somewhat competitive.

I don't think the Rangers have done a great job anywhere. I seen people ,no one in particular, jealous about getting Vessy Fox Pananrin and Trouba .

Just my opinion but I don't think anyone in the next five years will be saying what a great job NYR have done.

I remember debating with some ( not you) about the quality of this years draft. I said there are decent players but I didn't think Hughes or Kakko are game changers. I compared them to Hischier.

I would have agreed. great players but not elite and not generational. Still great to get players that have that bit more quality but takes longer and more of them to get the winning team.

But I like the things they improved. Defensively they look good.

He does play against the other teams best lines I'm guessing and not playing with Utica's best line. He will come around in that.
