7 OT and SO wins, and 9/10 games were one goal games. - matty12345
Whereas this year we've played 9 games and had 3 go to OT/SO and 1 other 1 goal game (which was Saturday). |

He has a point in that it needs to stop.
I can start another debate. How much does it have to do with "packing it in" as much as it does leaning on their two worst possession defenders (Ristolainen and McCabe)? - buffalofan19
We all agree on both things: it needing to stop and the defense pairing you mentioned. |

I think in a lot of ways we're all saying the same things, it's just the way some people voice it comes across as saying that we're still awful and have made no progress from last year and others make it seem like everything is sunshine and rainbows.
Really, we're all saying something in the middle. |

If that's the disconnect I'll say this. I think we are a lot better. Why?
1. We are still top heavy with forwards, but Olofsson and MoJo mean we are relying on 5 instead of 3.
2. Miller is an elite possession defensemen, and Joker is too. Together, they've changed our zone exits completely. Instead of having one good passer, I have three, and one is out there at least 36 minutes a night or so. Scandella looks dare I say good? But i'm crediting that solely to his partner who is a passing wizard.
3. The coach seems to be able to get a better effort from the players. I'm not going to say he is better at x's and o's because it's early, though I really do appreciate that we abandoned the man to man system in our zone.
The question is, is that enough to be kinda good, or really good? I'm at kinda good right now.

Without quoting Matty122345whatever - the one thing I wholeheartedly agree with is the lack of offense, and it comes down to two things
- They need another top 6 guy similar to Skinner who drives chances
- They need to stop playing two of the worst offensive d men we have at 5 on 5 as much as they are playing (19,55)
Jokiharju has been excellent at passing and setting up chances either on the rush or with bonkers three line passes. He needs to play more |

I think a good pass rusher has surpassed the need of an elite WR. Which is weird to think about
Trent Hughes and Shaq haven’t gotten to the QB at all. Oliver and Phillips have applied good penetration. |

Agree on the Pass Rusher, Dunlap is pretty good at getting to the QB, think you could get both him and Green for what it might cost to get say Von Miller. It would be wild seeing Green Beasley and Brown out, there |

Bobby McCain did not react well to heckles from a 13-year-old. (AP Photo/Wilfredo Lee, File)
Dolphins sink even lower with spitting incident
According to the Buffalo News, the incident occurred when the boy shouted “You’re irrelevant!” to Miami players as they walked through the New Era Field tunnel for warmups. The 26-year-old McCain reportedly responded by turning around and threatening to spit in the boy’s face, according to a fan named Dylan Wentland.
Wentland reportedly confronted McCain over the behavior, which resulted in him getting a surprise after the game.
From the Buffalo News:
"He's the nicest kid in the world. He's sat behind us for years with his dad. He was just having a good time," said Wentland, a 15-year season ticket holder. "I go, 'Dude, what’s wrong with you? What kind of role model are you for the kid?'"
Wentland said he didn't interact with McCain anymore during the game, but when the game ended and players left the field, McCain sought him out.
"I haven’t even said a word to him. He runs right up to me and spits in my face and then runs down the tunnel," Wentland said. "I mean literally wound up, hocked and just spit right in my face while I’m standing there."
A fifth-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft, McCain signed a four-year, $27 million contract with the team before the 2018 offseason. He has previously gotten into hot water, punching future teammate Danny Amendola during a game in 2017.
Sheriff’s deputies reportedly responded to the first incident by trying to escort Wentland away, but other fans backed him up. The boy’s father, Scott Hammond, backed Wentland’s account of the incident to the News:
"McCain walked over and, like, faked spitting on him five or six times," Hammond said, referring to McCain's actions toward his son before the game. "He made the noise but nothing came out.”
Hammond said McCain threatened to spit on the boy again while headed back through the tunnel after warmups, but another player kept McCain moving.
Multiple fans reportedly gave statements about the incident to deputies, resulting in undersheriff Mark Wipperman telling the News the allegation is “serious” and “gross.”
Obviously, that’s a new, particularly odd low for the Dolphins this year in a year. The team is unapologetically tanking this season for a shot at the No. 1 overall pick in the quarterback-rich 2020 NFL draft, but that end result doesn’t mean much for the players left on the roster who aren’t valuable enough to leave via trade.
The team is last in the NFL in points for and points allowed. It’s in the league’s bottom three in passing offense, rushing offense and rushing defense. It ranks only 22th in passing defense, and last in turnover margin. But hey, at least the team is No. 1 in spit attempts this season.
More from Yahoo Sports:
Wow just wow.... the fans are going to chew this guy up next year. |

I tend to agree. The Lotulelei signing has been a dud. Phillips has come on hot, but Hughes' best days are behind him.
Yeah, I'm actually ok with Brown, Beasley, Williams, Roberts, McKenzie and Foster.
At the same time, it might be a case of diminishing returns to continue to invest in an already good defense. Might be a good year to just stand pat, or maybe pick up a depth linebacker or something |

Sabres are being outshot, giving up more scoring chances than they are getting, and giving up more High danger chances than they are getting. That's while getting 7 more powerplays than their opponents. So uhh, why are they good?
5th in the league in shooting percentage. Fifth in the league in save percentage. Both in my opinion are completely unsustainable.
The similarities between this years 9 game start and last years 10 game streak are startling. - matty12345
If you’re not going to be honest about your arguments and what’s transpiring, then what’s the point addressing your rebuttal?
At first you say they’re getting 7 more PPs, then you argue we are averaging 1.5 minutes less. Which is it? Do I have to fact check everything you’re saying? |

We have had 7 more PP. In theory that could be 14 minutes. But you posted that some of those might be shortened by opposing penalties, etc.
So I posted they average 1.5 minutes a night less penalty minutes than their opponents. That means on a typical night the sabres get an extra 1:30 of PP time.
You just keep lashing out without reading anything properly. 7 powerplays would theoretically be 14 minutes. 1.5 minutes a night x 9 nights is 13.5 minutes. I mean, that's two stats basically saying the same thing. How am I being dishonest? |

Yes, but a majority of those Broncos teams according to my Uncle were god awful. There was a reason we got blown out in so many Super Bowls. Elway was the Broncos. Just like Rodgers is the Packers for the most part.
I’ve never said Allen was a finished product, but just that he needs to continue to improve.
When Elway was finally given a running game and a half decent defence the Broncos won back to back Super Bowls.
The Bills have a strong enough defence to have a chance in the playoffs. Between Gore and the rookie they have the horses there to move the chains on the ground. Daboll needs to commit to running the ball more in my opinion to keep defences honest and open up the play action game. - Swedish_Jesus
Tell your Uncle he’s wildly wrong. Year after year after year the Broncos had crazy success running with whatever back they had in the lineup.
In Elway first few years in the league he had Pro Bowler Sammy Winder in his back field. After that a guy named Terrell Davis. Look him up in Canton if he’s not familiar to you. |

Terell Davis was near the end of Elway’s career though. He was a huge part of each Super Bowl wiN |

Yeah, and at the beginning of Elway’s career All Pro Sammy Winder has the Broncos 1st or 2d in the AFC West in every season from 1984 -1989.
So your premise that the team was bad is wildly wrong. They were a perennial division champ.

In Winnipeg, having 500 seats left counts as a sellout
https://winnipegsun.com/s...sion-not-fooled-by-prices
"A few seasons ago, the availability of hundreds of tickets on the Ticket Monster website right up until game time had already piqued my interest.
The Jets, rather sensitive about this subject, always downplayed it, saying those tickets were mostly from the batch set aside for the league or visiting teams and didn’t count and, besides, a near-sell-out was close enough to a sell-out for them." - jcragcrumple
I think I remember reading something awhile ago like as long as it's single seats left it counts, or something stupid like that. |

I mean we got our butts handed to us in a few Super Bowls and I’m sure the Browns could of given a better fight in two of those if it weren’t for “The Drive” and “The Fumble”. Elway elevated the team to heights and was the definition of clutch.
Terell Davis ran for 2000 yards though and those Shanahan run oriented offences were definitely the reason we won back to back. Just like how we finally won with Peyton once we built one of the best defences of this century if not NFL history itself and CJ Anderson ran like his hair was on fire.
The moral of the story is that the Bills have elements in place that can put them in the conversation in the AFC but they definitely need Allen to take the next step. He’s proven he can be clutch but the offence cannot sputter or continuously hope to come back in the 4th in December or January cause it is more likely that it won’t work out in the Bills favour. It’s nice to see them have success though, the fans deserve it. |
