Darnold 34 yards passing.... yep he learned a lot having those games off
- gordong

Yep his performance has been almost as bad as Allen’s yesterday, right trolls? Omg if Allen played like this I can’t imagine this board

All wins count the same. The past is in the past. Elway won when it counted, we have not seen what Allen can do yet when it gets to that point.

However what I do know is that there wouldn’t be a 4th quarter come back against the Jets if Allen didn’t turnover the ball 4 times in the first half. There wouldn’t have been the need for come backs against the winless Bengals or Dolphins if the offence did not struggle for a majority of those games. There wouldn’t have been a 4th quarter come back against the Titans if they don’t leave 19 points on the board (between missed field goals and Mariota being offside by half a yard on the go ahead touchdown pass).

Allen seems like a great guy. He has a cannon for an arm. He has a whole career ahead of him to put it together. I just think he needs to continue to improve and put it together quick because it’s hard to field an elite defence like this year after year.

Whether or not the comebacks are self-inflicted (they are), he is absolutely doing it when it counts - in the 4th quarter when the game is on the line.

Unless you're saying regular season games dont matter

I’m just waiting for this to somehow warp into a point about Skinner’s contract

Well, Allen did have a pretty rough day against the Pats too. And was rightly criticized for it.

How do you find the strength to respond to this drivel?

Honestly, this board was something I enjoyed reading, as it provided a much clearer view from the fans perspective.

Those posters forcing themselves into literal pretzels with arguments that end up contradicting themselves within the same post. Its agonizing to behold. WTF?

If Josh isn't cheap-shoted to the head and taken out of that game, he would have another 4th Qtr come from behind Victory.

Putting aside some arguments over the definition of it, Elway is widely regarded as the “king of the 4th quarter comeback”.

Are Elway’s comebacks somehow more valid than Allen’s? Is there a need for The Drive I and II if he’d just put up more than 13 and 16 points on the board before those 4th quarters?

Against the Chiefs in ‘98 he was credited with a comeback by going 10-19 170 yards and no touchdowns for the game. Not exactly eye-popping stats there.

Really great ! Reminds me of playing games like that in the backyard as a kid

That's cool. Shame they did't get the Bosa slide until his teammates joined in.

I really, REALLY would’ve love to have found out. A last minute TD drive and win in that spot would have been legendary by Bills standards.

Of course, we don’t know that but I would have liked to see him get the chance. Feeling bad for Darnold, he’s seems like a good kid but is just totally lost out there tonight. His best play of the night was batting the ball out of the end zone

Yeah but all these fancy stats are meaningless if you didn’t see the game to understand the context.

I mean Allen does not have the playoff wins or the Super Bowls. The Bills offence has averaged 19 points per game ( not counting that Micah Hyde return last week) through the first 6 games.

Allen’s stat line reads 118/189 for 1324 yards with 7 TD’s and 7 INT’s with an 80.2 QBR. His counter part this week Carson Wentz has a 92 QBR.

Joe Flacco has an 86.2 QBR and he is terrible.

Has Allen ever thrown for 300 yards ? I don’t recollect the Bills winning a game solely due to his arm either. Elway brought the Broncos to new heights. The Bills are 5-1 right now but that is due to the strength of their defence.

- Swedish_Jesus

Elway didn't until he was like 64 either.

Darnold just got bell killed. I hope Daboll is taking notes of this game - #27 for NE is having a brutal game - 3 P.I. Penalties.

As I’m typing this Darnold throws his 4th int. They should have mercy and take him out of the game

Of the 47 players that have scored at least 100 goals since the start of the ‘15-16 season, Jeff Skinner has the highest % of his goals at even strength.

Highest % of Goals at Even Strength:
1. Jeff Skinner (82.8%)
2. Johnny Gaudreau (82.0%)
3. Connor McDavid (81.2%)

You mean QB rating. A QBR of 80 is amazing. Prescott is leading the league with a 79.2 QBR so far this year. Last year Mahomes had an 80.3.

I think the fact that the Bills 5 wins this season coming against teams with a 5-26 record makes the comebacks less historic then Elway doing them in the playoffs against AFC powerhouses.

Yep great signing. Will seem even better in a few years when contracts are 15m/year. He also has the body type where he can be effective into his 30s. Quickness...

He’s just a superstar

He’s on pace for 40 goals with Sobotka and a guy who hasn’t played center in years.

Botts has acquired some damn studs in Skinner, Jokiharju, Miller and to a lesser degree Johansson.

Of course, which is why we’re comparing us to... the other teams in the league
- sbroads24

Which is like comparing oranges to tangerines. They look alike, but they're still different. If all teams played the same way, then sure, but they don't, so it's not really a one-to-one comparison.

How many of those 10 games ended up in OT or a SO? Yes, they've gotten a few this year too, but not like last year.

There's for sure areas that could use some improvement and there are areas that they're doing really well in that will regress because it's not sustainable, but the actual way the games are being played actually say "cohesive NHL team" to me compared to what we saw last year.

- HonkFortheGoose

Exactly

No one here thinks this team is a finished product
And I’m sure Botts doesn’t either

And not that ppl are bashing the Sabres...
why can’t some just enjoy how much better we look??
We are FINALLY taking a step forward with all this young talent we’ve been gathering

And for some reason...
there’s still MANY on here just so focused on the negative

It’s pretty ridiculous

Allen did play like this vs the Pats

Their defense is nasty
Could definitely go undefeated in the regular season
