Your optimism is refreshing, thank you.

Yup so many years of stellar performances and the ability of the team to address their shortcomings are very positive signs.

That's a waste.

First of all, another Muzzin isn't that great because he isn't that great.

Secondly, if you're going to trade forwards (who, by the way), make them part of a bigger trade and get somebody on Rielly's level so you have a legit top pair that you can safely say matches up with the likes of Hedman/McDonagh or Chara/McAvoy.

Dermott coming back definitely helps and benching or trading Ceci definitely does too. Doesn't help for next year though.

- JohnFergusonJr

Muzzin’s been pretty good, another one would make us awesome...not easily found though.

Montreal is better right now.

There is no excuse for that.

- Aetherial

That will change over 82 games. Leafs still have the best offense in the NHL and while it might not be the best strategy in the playoffs, over 82 games, it usually serves teams well. Just the same way Buffalo is in 1st (as they were last year) but odds are their goaltending will crumble by the end of the year because they have two back-ups and no real legit starter.

He's not that good of a skater, makes questionable decisions with the puck and he's a UFA. If the Leafs bring in more guys like that, they'll be spinning their wheels.

If the Leafs make a deal, it should be a big one that brings in a long term solution. The short term fixes cost the Leafs assets at a time when they aren't ready to be doing that yet.

Five straight ticky-tack penalties called against the Leafs. Seriously?? If this game is called down the middle, the Leafs win comfortably.

What the hell is going on with the refs the past few games??

Ceci and Spezza are getting their Senators stink all over this team. Please get rid of those two pylons. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if Spezza is demoted or traded for a late round pick once JT returns

Marner seriously needs to pick it up.

He’s been crap defensively and has looked like an average player 5v5.

Matthews/Marner wants to play together...yet they were a complete disaster in the 3 mins they played together tonight. 3 goals against

- Santo_44

because they both believe they are top 3 players in the league and need to do a lot of growing up.

Not talking his contract, taking a player of his talent. He’s very good, he makes the odd mistake but he’s been our best D and haven’t noticed his speed hurting him at all yet this year. He’s very smart with the puck most times, sorry I think you’re wrong there...anyways I’m out - cheers ladies and gents

He's a 2nd pairing guy at best and he definitely makes mistakes with the pucks. Had well over 100 giveaways last year. For a guy who isn't suppose to be making that many passes, he gives it up a lot. And his shutdown / PKing abilities weren't all that impressive in the playoffs last year either.

If the Leafs get another guy that is his "type" to put with Rielly, they'll just have another Hainsey on their hands. They need somebody better than that, not more of the same.
