So far this year, Moore has been the biggest positive surprise for the Leafs.
I really feel he deserves to stay in the top9 when Hyman is back.

Hyman - Moore - Marner for me three wingers for top 2 lines for sure.

Mikheyev - Matthews - Moore
Kerfoot - Nylander - Kapanen
Johnsson - Gauthier - Timashov

I don't like Nylander at all now vs opposing toplines.
He lacks urgency and does not work hard enough.
Maybe as a 3rd line centre he'll do better.
If not, trade him.

The Leafs don't employ a checking line, but Nylander is not a Centre. Putting him as one is asking for him to fail in the eyes of those who dislike him even more.

Max has his biases, and sticks to them. He doesn't like Kerfoot as a centre. He doesn't like Nylander, and thinks Johnsson is just Frattin v2.0 (who scored 17 goals in his whole NHL career).

The lines will very likely be:

I think those lines will be effective. I wish more ice time for Moore, but adding his speed with Timashov's slipperiness (and apparently laser of a shot when he gets time and space) and Gauthier's size could make that fourth line a difference maker against other 4th lines.

Petan, Shore & Spezza end up as casualties. I was on the Spezza train, but he's played his way off of it.

I get that the Leafs don't use a shutdown line, but moving Nylander from 1 RW to 3C, won't help anyone.. All it will do add fuel to the fires that his detractors are burning..

I like the line combinations you have come up with, but in saying that, your 3rd line with Mikheyev and Kapanen, both are good defensively and Kerfoot is getting better at his role now as well.
