Only if we can call you the New Jersey Oilers. Though at this rate, we will become the Sabres. - 2sticks1puck
Well the Oilers and Sabres off to hot starts finally. See you in 8 years or so? |

Busy night. We didn’t get to Josh Ho sang who continues to skate and train in Toronto while awaiting a trade from the Islanders. Sounds like Lou is working on it. |

You know, this makes a ton of sense for the Leafs. If Ho-Sang pans out on any kind of level, it's a cheap part for when they inevitably have to trade Nylander and/or Kapanen. |

I’m truly beginning to wonder if Quinn isn’t in over his head. He doesn’t have the NHL level experience to help change this mess. It’s a tough spot, it’s New York, so he’s expected to win some of his games, but what’s troubling is it seems to be snowballing out of control.
I agree with the notion that Kreider contract status is weighing on him, that and simple truth that this is a magnificent skater, with hands of stone. Don’t know what his future is, but it’s not likely to be in NY. The sooner the better for his sake. Sorry, TPC. |

It's possible, Dallas Eakins was a much better "prospect" and he wound up over his head in a similar situation. I do think you have to take in account that if you take out the hot start last year, we really was one of the worst 2 or 3 teams in hockey last year and have a bunch of new pieces. If things don't start turning around by Christmas though, yeah I'll have legitimate concerns. |

It makes sense for a lot of teams. If Lou gets anything that's like a 3rd round pick, or better, for him then he got a great return given the situation. It's almost certainly a buy-very-low move for whoever trades him so the risk is almost nil. If he turns into an every day player it's a win, a skilled/contributing player would be a home run. And if he sucks and/or is entirely uncoachable....it didn't cost much. |

Yes, additionally, I’m not sure he has the status to go upstairs and rattle a few cages. His coaching staff, save Ruff, is equally inexperienced. My God, did you see the Coyotes coaching staff? All good former players. |

For all the articles that are written by stat nerds about how they need to hire coaches that are analytics, I find it amusing that the turnarounds of teams like the Yotes, Canes, NYI, etc have been fueled by old school hockey people. |

I don't know, I think Hajek has been better than Fox, and the fact Skjei isn't mentioned as being a problem on defense, but he goes after the low hanging fruit in Staal, come on. |

He also says the Islanders are after a 30yo LW that's declining and is making $9.5M until he's 35 |
