what was the story?...wasn't it something like housely's aloofness and condescending attitude towards Ray? - Michael Pachla
I just remember an interview on the same show where Ray said that more of that was made than it needed to be, and that he didn't really have an issue with him. Something to the extent that whatever happened, or whatever pissed him off, was over 30 years ago, and that he didn't begrudge him for it. |

Assistant coaching jobs are cushy. He's safe if he's not the guy the players have to go to.
Him and Phil, and many many others, were humbled. They've learned from their past errors what's effective and what isn't, as far as how they need to relate to players. Maybe Phil gets another chance in a few years. I doubt Disco does. - TheSabresTaco
From Vogl 4/17:
"Bylsma has three years left on his contract, but Murray has offered several condemning statements about the coach. The biggest was that the coaching staff did not talk to and get to know the players well enough." |

The way you're talking about it makes it sound like dianetics for millenials. Is this another L. Ron Hubbard religion? |

Am I full convinced? - No
Am I enjoying it? - Hell Yes

they still try to be too cute with the puck and that needs to stop. they should have had a goal on (i think) the first shift last night but Eichel made another pass..

The big deal is that you can live in 98% of the country with much more property and a much bigger house for the same poopty cost as it is to live in a box in a major Californian coastal city. |

Some good points being made on the Instigators, about Krueger installing a system, but letting the players use there natural ability. Krueger believes in a system, but players wouldn't be in the NHL unless they were the best of best, just let them flow and not think to much. Seems to be working. |

Players calling teammates out:
"Just an inexcusable change. Two guys that stayed out too long looking for offense. It's a selfish play that doesn't need to be part of this team, so we'll figure that out." -- Sharks captain Logan Couture on the line change that led to Jack Eichel's overtime goal - adambuffalo
Which two Shark players is he referring to, anyone know? |

No the law of attraction repackaged.
What you put out in the Universe is what you get back. Pantheism reimagined. |

I agree.
I think what I should have written is, as long as the HC is liked and the team is successful, the assistants become invisible. |

Meier and Labanc
I don't think Logan has a problem calling out younger, more inexperienced players. He wouldn't dare say that about Marleau, Thornton, Burns etc. Not publicly, that is.
Don't fault him at all for the comments. |

No it matters, as long as the coach isn't a 60 year old German soccer coach. |

Girgensons had a problem with Bylsma as well...not saying gus and matty weren't what they were and are, just noting that Bylsma had a way of turning off players and pissing them off as well - Michael Pachla
GMTM said about Bylsma right before both were fired, "I think he needs to sit down and have coffee with the players once in a while," or something to that affect. Says all that needs to be said |

A combination of instincts and system has worked fantastic. You can clearly see a system in play, the way they seem to smother teams, be in position for takeaways, not get beat on odd man rushes, moving the puck on the PP, forcing guys to the net instead of shots.. it's enjoyable to watch something that actually works for once. |
