California is the best place has lots of things to do
I understand it's expensive but that's because of all the attractions they have the best food /besides pizza and wings / where can you get a beet Burger with melted goat cheese with a homemade gluten-free bun only here.. - gerbe75pts

Well i stayed a week in venice beach and had to park a 15 minute walk from my airbnb - robz228
not to mention the cost to park in a garage.
Last trip was San Pedro by the USS Iowa. We got parking included in the group rate, but was like something crazy like 30-40 a night parking otherwise. |

I mean, there's definitely ways to get around it, but in general it was brutal. Parking when you get to where you're going sucks too. I guess I'm just used to having a bit more space. I grew up in Angola and get crabby about the traffic in Amherst on Transit Rd sooooooo I guess that's all you need to know about me.
It's easier to get around in NYC honestly. - HonkFortheGoose
Same. I live on the Amherst-Buffalo-Cheektowaga border and work downtown. It's about a 10 minute commute for me. I get irritated when the 33 backs up. I think part of my frustration is that our population is so small that most of the traffic backups are inexplicable.
A lot of the things we like better are due to a lower population. If this city ever really started flourishing economically, we would all probably be in trouble because our highway system in WNY is not prepared to handle it. |

Nothing about a Beet should ever be referred to as a burger.

I went out to LA to visit some family back in August. It's great to visit, but I will tell you I'd lose my sh!t if I had to deal with that traffic on a daily basis. That is a HARD PASS from me.
Hour and a half to go 13 miles. F that.....l - HonkFortheGoose
That's the only bad part the traffic but it's worth it at the end |

If Cleveland can so can Buffalo if the right leadership is in place to drive that change.
But demographics are showing that people are starting to move from larger cities in favor of smaller ones.
Have to pay attention to that stuff for recruiting. Long story short, Buffalo has got a shot if the right leadership gets in place.
It's a cool city that's under rated. |

Very true. I often wonder why a highway gets backed up in general. Who the hell is coming to a stop that's causing it? If everyone gets on and does the speed limit, then there's no reason why it should slow down like it does. Or at least that's what logic tells me.
They really need to figure out a way to reconfigure where 290/90/33 all essentially come together, because that right there is a mess. It's a bit better since they made some changes over there the last few years, but it still bottlenecks there all the time. |

Agreed.....but I don't want to start talking about causes there. This could get real ugly, REAL fast.
I live in an area that has been, I think, WAY harder than Buffalo in the Southern Tier.
We've lost TONS of people. |

I don't know. I have quite a few family/friends that live out there and deal with it, but I don't think they'd say the same thing as you. One of them specifically won't take a job tht requires more than a 40 minute drive from his house. So, like 10 miles max basically. The ones that live out there do it for very specific reasons and would come back here if the situation was different. |

Jack ECHL--"Coach-killer" - Michael Pachla
Just so you know Henri Richard of the Montreal Canadiens publicly called Al McNeil "the worst coach I have ever played for." in 1971. Richard was nothing short of a classy player but sometimes things have to be said. |

On the Matt Moulson thing, I don't feel any sympathy for players who get paid huge money and don't work.
Okposo is a disaster of a contract, but at least he has embraced a work ethic and fourth line role that makes him a genuine contributor on the ice. I can't blame him for not living up to his contract, but I could blame him for not giving 100%. If anything, you have to admire a guy who is used to scoring learning how to play without the puck and support other guys who get to score.
Moulson was almost always out of shape and did nothing. And he got rich doing so. If he hated the job so much, he could have always quit and saved us a ton of money. Instead he collected his checks.
Also, Bylsma wasn't perfect, but MM trying to put the blame there because he was the slowest player in the NHL is rich. What was Bylsma supposed to say? |

Somehow, adding that extra lane where the 90 and the 33 meet has made things worse. |

1) Taxes
1-A) Corrupted Govt Constantly ranked as the worst of all 50 states.
2) Cost of living is inflating at a higher rate than Salaries
3) Pay grade. Buffalo for some reason is still a place employers feel they can "Pay people less"
4) Weather is not worth the above three.5 |
