Count me in as one.
I might go back eventually, in a pine box...must be I isolated well though...after 57 years, the cold and snow was way too much.

Maybe when Montour comes back he can replace Sobotka on L2. They have Sobotka there as the "defensive forward" on that line anyway right? Also, MoJo can take draws Lol. |

Winnipeg jets claimed defenseman Sbisa off waivers from Anaheim. One of the “rare” occurrences that “almost never happen.”

From PHam
Krueger on their overall game: “I speak about those areas of no statistics that we have so many of in hockey. There’s no analytics that will ever be able to summarize some of the work that’s being done right now and it’s the guys buying into all those non-statistical efforts that make the difference in a hockey game and we just cannot let go of that.” |

Claiming off of waivers is rare, but it's not because of some conspiracy or "good-old-boys" secret handshake. It's because cap space is sacred, and most players that hit waivers aren't worth losing space over, especially because you have to keep the player on your NHL roster. |

They're generally bubble guys and every team already has their own fair share of them in some way or another. I'll honestly say I was surprised that the Sabres even qualified Elie this offseason. I didn't think he was all that great last year and with being close to the cap it seemed like a headscratcher of a move to me. |

If Sbisa (soon to be 30 who played 39 games over the past two years) gets claimed I don't think there is a chance Gilmour clears. |

It was pretty clear from the word "go" they wanted him for Rochester. What they see in him that's good for that, I really don't know. |

I don't mind it. Botts has preached orgainzational depth. The guy has been here for a while now and is familiar with the org. Can help win in Roch and is an extra body if multiple injuries happen to the big club. |

This one is rarer than rare. He signed a one-way deal yesterday to play in the AHL, then got claimed off waivers.
If you want to claim that the 1% of waived players that get claimed isn't rare, have at it.

my guess is that the suggestion, more accurately stated, is that the Sbisa claim is evidence that Winnipeg's need for defensemen, and the need for defensemen across the league, RIGHT NOW, adds an additional layer to the considerations surrounding waiving Gilmour, notwithstanding the historical rarity of such an occurence.
RIGHT?
maybe everybody can be smart together instead of fighting over which one of us is the smartest. |
