ya I know, marky isn't laughing though knowing his character, I bet he said its all on me. They didn't let it totally slip away, I thought they were the better team after the timeout, so there is that positive. - Bettmanhatesus
He said if I was even close to decent we win this game.
He did take ownership and he was correct. Looking forward to watching the Comets tonight. |

I thought the Caps were manhandling some of our smaller players, causing them to be out of position or making bad plays.
Markstrom had a fough game, as he was struggling with the puck all game.
Hopefully they learn from this.
Also, Green should have called a timeout, earlier. - Reubenkincade
Keep an eye on that if we get ever get into the playoffs. |

Meh - coaching/game planning can put that in your favor. If a smaller team is optimizing speed & chemistry, the bully team looks slow/uncoordinated/outmatched. If the smaller team is trying to outbully the bullies, they get steamrolled. Don’t play their game, optimize your own. That means puck control > dump and chase. An emphasis on time of possession - make their bullies chase you around & get tired.
Last night the Canucks were facing a travelling team on the 2nd night of a back to back and because they played to hold a lead (passive/not trying to control play), they got dominated/outworked in what was the Caps 7th period in 2 nights. That might be the most pathetic part of the collapse. |

Stop all the whining, this is the team that Benning has built and you don't get a choice in how it is used by Green. Just enjoy the ride, last night was entertaining and that's all I can ask for. |

During a long playoff series physicality certainly comes into play Doc. Hopefully Ferland finds his game when and if that happens. One good thing was the points were distributed good. Still there should be a bag skate in order. |

I will be happy just making the playoffs. I don't expect any kind of deep run in the PO . I would be thrilled just winning one game.
I still think this team is 2-3 years away from being a threat in the PO. |

This is the NHL, margin between teams size and speed is minor. Margin of victories are minor.
Got beat in one period by probably the best team in the NHL right now. Marky makes a single save and could be talking a 5-4 game instead. Or even in the shootout if Marky makes one more stop, they might win.
Someone needs to be an intangible on a night like that. PP scored 1-6, Marky didn't make enough saves. Green didn't win enough match ups and sometimes the other team just gets lucky. |

That may work, if the bullies are big and slow, but Washington has size with speed.
Their players were putting pressure on the puck carrier all night, including Lars Eller, who on more than 1 occassion, made a small defenseman on the Canucks, look like an NCAA player
I wouldn't say that the Canucks were dominated in the 3rd, they gave up 6 shots on goal, some of the players just seemed to stop skating |

Work hard and entertain is all I ask for. They entertained but...
Sure make the playoffs for experience, it's a start right? |

I agree.
I think when Bo is 28 , Petey 25 , Brock 26 Miller 30 that is when you will see a deep team.
Hughes and Petey are just at their beginning. |

Eller went after Stecher too a few times. I will be glad when Roussel comes back . We go from being the hunted to being the hunter.

Eller had a strong game for the Caps.
Roussel will be a big help to this team. |

Man he's been out awhile. Late November maybe? He certainly brings it, this team needs that element for sure. |

I think your overreacting lol
This team is playing pretty good hockey ...much better than most outside of here would have thought
The caps scored a last second goal followed by some non high danger goals ...hardly coaching there - Redmile247

this board they got a point against a much better team, very winnable game but third period collapse by all. Either way, lots of positives to take away. Hoping Demko gets next start. |
