The past few games I've noticed what seems to be a conscious effort to not block shots, to let the goalies see the shots. I've seen the defenders get out of the way where they used to try and block the shot. It probably partly explains the relative lack of deflection goals against.

Ullmark has looked good tonight, Gilmore has to step into Bertuzzi there

Then there's the fact that the defender is entitled to the space he's already occupying. He doesn't have to get out of the offensive players way when the offensive player decides to skate/jump right at him.

Sabres responded after a weak 1st period but theres somethinf about rodrigues i dont like at all he cant pass en cant shoot he cant deke yes he has speed but everytime he touches the puck and shoots a weak shot to the goaltender
