if you want jack to get goals, play him with sam
if you want jack to get assists play him with skinner
sam and jeff are 2 different players, one is an all around play maker the other is a goal scorer
sam did have more points then skinner last season - homiedclown
You make them sound equal. Skinner + Eichel generate more quality opportunities together. That will result in more goals.

But it is lasting and he’s not shooting.
He has 8 total 5 on 5 shots dude. 8. That’s 11 less than Sobotka.
He’s been god awful 5 on 5 and it’s hurting Eichel.
There’s legit no other way around it - sbroads24
You're still talking about 17 games to start a career. He and Eichel will gain chemistry and Olo will become more comfortable at the NHL level. I'd personally like to see him work through it there. |

no clue with all the bashing going on, not directed at you
I think skinner means more to johansson 5 on 5 then he would to eichel
if you want 2 decent lines

Fair point. Those 2 have been good together. I'm just at the point where I think the first line needs a shake up. They only have 4 top 6 forwards, the options are a bit limited.

I'm not saying move Olofsson, but I would entertain moving him to his off wing, just seems like such an obvious idea. It's where he is on the Powerplay when he scores all those goals. |

Speaking of.
He has one assist in his last 7 games and doesn’t have a goal with the goalie in the net this year.
His offense has returned to very, very average - sbroads24
I said he’d start to decline by 30, maybe it’s already begun.
Trading ROR brought back Thompson, Johnson, Miller and gave us the cap room to bring in Johansson (or cover half of Skinner’s AAV per year if you see it that way). I still think it was the right move.
The Blues won their cup, we get long term pieces to help us be a better club moving forward. |

This discussion always ends up in lunacy.
Olofsson isn’t even shooting the puck at EV and we should just ignore it.
He’s fantastic on the PP. leave him there.
Get him away from 9 for now |

Isn't our $10m Center expected to make those around him better?
Isn't our #2 overall pick with super high Hockey IQ supposed to make others better?
Shouldn't the expectation be that our 2 best players being together on line 1 make the natural goal scorer better and help him through his rookie year, not the other way around.
Keep OV on Line 1 and let him work it out with Jack and Sam, while Skinner and MoJo stabilize Line 2 and become a formidable line once Risto is traded in a package for a stud 2C or 2RW! |

I was told you can put any 2 bodies on the top line with jack and they will get points 5 on 5 - homiedclown
I mean he does have 7 points in 11 games at Even Strength and his 14 points total is the best start to his career. 7 points in his first 10 games is also the best start to his career at even strength. Although he didn’t get credited with an assist on Scandella’s goal last night his work to burn the defender and put the puck on net created the rebound and scrum in the first place.

We need to play in LA more often. They hand out secondary assists like candy. |

Keep in mind - I like Olofsson a ton and think he’s going to be very good.
Right now - why exactly should Olofsson have unlimited time to figure it out while we try and win hockey games?
He’s the second lowest forward on the entire team in 5 on 5 shots despite getting a good amount of ice time
It ain’t working right now
And I’m 1000% positive because I am saying this he will score 2 5 on5 goals tonight |

I get what you're saying...and I feel that way about Sobotka...so I get wanting to change things up to make them better.
That said, I also feel like giving g O,olsson a wide swath to find his game since he has a history of doing so in Sweden and the AHL.
They are 11 games in with a 8-2-1 record, so it isn't killing them while Line 1 struggles on the road. In fact, now is the time to demonstrate patience with a rookie as he tries to find his game.
Now a 31 year old 2nd line RW with...is it 2 goals so far just isn't cutting it, it isn't like we should be waiting for him to "develop". |

Last night we were the #1 team in the league playing a team tied for last, with a losing streak. The rangers came out and played their asses off. With success, you need to ready to face every team’s best effort. Previous years, we were always the team being underestimated which resulted in some wins against superior teams. Throw out the stats, scouting reports, video analysis, etc. because when you are the ‘Better’ team you are always going to play against a much different team than expected, and you need to be ready. They weren’t. Learn and move on starting tonight. |
