No irony at, one is fact about the differences between hockey teams the other is who is the best rookie that will win the Calder.....Quinn all the way.

Sad isn't it. Canucks fans are reduced to thinking their youngsters are better than they are.

Remember when you thought Elias Pettersson was going to be a league leader in scoring?

LOL.

Actually no I don't remember that at all, Pettersson is certainly not playing to potential, but most players take a bit longer in their sophomore year. But 11 points in 10 games is a good start.

Everyone knows the Canucks are improving but still a outside chance to even consider making the playoffs.

Quinn has a good chance to win the Calder as any of the other players you mentioned.

If they do great, no expectations. It's easier that way.

oh yeah, Canucks fans certainly went on about Pettersson being a 100 point player, Boeser being a 40 goal scorer, etc, etc, etc. "He's going to be way better than Auston MAtthews". Uhh, okay.

Pettersson got a bit overhyped last year. He had a few lucky games that he picked up a tonne of points, and if I recall, was getting unsustainable shooting percentage, until it tailed off, along with his production, towards the end of the season. he's not the superstar Canucks fans made him out to be. Great young player, just not to the extent Canucks fans chirped.

The question wasn't who has a chance to win the calder, it was who has been the best to date. And quite frankly, he's been the third best dman so far, with Cale Makar, and surprisingly, the Finn in Winnipeg, both being better. Now, Heinola probably won't even stay with the team, because as good as he's been, holding down first pairing minutes at times, it's a 10 game sample size, and they're probably not going to burn a year of ELC. Because there is little to no chance it lasts.

I don't particularly think that it's a good year for rookies, it seems a little weak, and he may be closer at the end of the year. but I doubt that as well, when a kid like Jack Hughes acclimates himself better, he'll take off. Along with a couple of other elite talent kids.

The question was who was best to this point, and several Canucks fans claim he's the easy choice, and that's really just silly. Not only is he not an easy choice, he's easily not the choice.... In this 10 game sample size.

Some clarity on Pod not playing lots in the KHL.

/Cam Robinson/
@Hockey_Robinson
Last thought on Podkolzin... It's not the end of the world. As long as he plays 30ish games in the VHL, coupled with all his international stuff, the 0-6 mins a night in the KHL for 20 games won't kill him.

It's a 2yr wait with no control. VAN knew what they were signing up for.

I've barely been on here in years.

And "Which rookie has been most impressive to date" from Hotstove has nothing to do with the Canucks. I expected to see some conversation about top rookies, not Canucks fans storming a thread to talk about their kid.

I get the impression that you like to exaggerate your interruption of what you read on a blog.

I'm in pretty much all the blogs and I haven't witnessed any Canuck fans posting in
blogs other than Carols that "Canucks fans certainly went on about Pettersson being a 100 point player, Boeser being a 40 goal scorer, etc, etc, etc. "He's going to be way better than Auston MAtthews". Uhh, okay."

I get it you don't like the Canucks, but to criticize fans talking up their teams players in their own blogs is a bit arrogant.

Uhh, no, I definitely had Canucks fans chirping about Pettersson being better than Matthews.

And unless I'm missing something, this is not a Canucks fan blog. It's a Hostove blog, which is supposed to be for all fans, isn't it? Or are you just being arrogant and claiming it's for Canucks fans? A blog for all fans, in which you're ignoring Canucks fans trolling about going upstairs to my mother, by the way, but proceed to call me arrogant for posting in it.....

Well you certainly come across as arrogant, you have this over valued idea that you are some hockey genius.

Quinn Hughes has been picked by Todd as his choice 10 games in so far, and as Makita stated you do seem to exaggerate, one Canuck fan asked if you had to go upstairs to your mother....ONE.

We thought Pettersson was pretty good
everyone agreed with us

hence the reason he won the Calder in a landslide

now he has 14 points in 11 games and is top 10 in NHL scoring
