Gonna have to start calling 'tradebatesy'

I wouldn't resign with the club for dink and frankly if we blow monkeys I'm not sure we should resign him. Maybe better to take a good return and move forward with Hughes, Nico and a new group of players.

It is looking like that will be for the best unfortunately. I think the 19/20 Devils may be the go-to example from now on for being careful not to overhype teams that "look good on paper". Exciting off season to build a last place team. The pre season looked promising. But October hasn't been fun. I think Hynes can only coach AHL players and kids. Can they send him down to Albany for a few weeks for conditioning?

It would be sad to see Hall go, but even if we get just one top prospect the trade is worth it. Anything else added would be the cherry on top.

The Hall situation is a problem. He needed to be signed by the beginning of the season. If he wanted to be here, I feel this would have gotten done. Trading him at the deadline is a disaster. We would be selling low to a playoff team who will give us a low end #1 draft choice and a second-tier prospect. He has to be traded by December 31!!

Right before the season started he gave his agent the OK to get a deal done. Not sure if plans changed.

Timing is definitely a real issue. You can make some good deals near the deadline but you can also be left with your Richard in your hand and get much less value.

Getting something done now with St. Louis looking to replace Tarasenko (suggested by someone yesterday) might be a good option for an early deal.

This is turning in to a high stakes game of chicken. But in my mind the best thing to do is try to reset the team with a new coach and get them playing right so this looks like a good place to be. Right now it's the same poop storm under the same regime.

Imagine trading a 2nd and a 3rd for a player, paying him 4.5 million, having him tied for team lead in goals coming off one of his most complete games and then sitting him.

Oh and still not playing a top prospect. This poop is worse than our record.
