Yeah he hinted pretty strongly at that.

He specifically downplayed the "Luck" factor too. Is it bad luck or is it just that the guy can't shoot worth a poop?

Being in a shooting location doesn't mean much if you're no good at it.

basically he said that right now they're in a good spot where they can determine who is having and should continue to have good results, but you need the coaches and scouts to figure out WHY those players are having the results.

Same here, bud.. I know Babs hasn't forgotten how to coach, I think this team might need him to be fired though.. Maybe it's time?
- PatC80

Babcock did really well in his past seasons (I still remember people saying that we should be patient, and still early last year to speak about playoffs!!).
The issue is, that he didn't have the proper support from Dubas to make that differenc in playoffs.
Dubas continues to make tough decisions - in particular going all in and trading a few good prospects and wingers (since Leafs are deep on the wings) to address the actual weak points on this Leafs team.
It is quite clear that Dubas is mainly concerned about his own future - by not making any big decisions he is avoiding at maximum to make any mistakes. his risk-avoidance might cost this Leafs core a few serious shots at the Cup though (e.g. Andersen is good right now, but shouldn't be renewed after his contract runs out).

it annoys me Tulsky was not hired by the Leafs, the canes are doing the things that I expected the Leafs to be doing.

at least its the Canes who I really have no issues with and not another poopty team I hate

I think the Leafs have generally done a good job, but I also think there's more pressure from above to maintain what's been built than there is in Raleigh where our Psycho owner wants them to be involved in every possible trade negotiation.

Babcock can only play the roster he was given.
Last I checked the league has not eliminated physicality from the game, as much as the Kyles of the hockey world would desperately love to see that happen.

It should be Lubeass on the hot seat, not the coach.

this is true....but you have to question babcocks goalie choices for b2b's....they have lost 4 in a row.... there was no reason to start hutchinson against montreal....freddy could have easily played that night after getting 14 shots against SJ....

Leafs got 7 out of 8 points in first games of the B2B games.
Just 1 out of 8 points in 2nd games of the B2B games.

Leafs need a decent backup. That's not on Babcock.

lol yeah I just looked at the roster again and, well, I guess you could play Muzzin and Reilly 26+ per night?

I agree that is stupid for him not to adjust. This wouldn’t be a problem if the nerd hadn’t given away Mac for Garret Sharts.
