I know everyone on this blog laughs at me, and I contribute nothing meanigful to any coherent conversation
And, I have already said far too much about a subject I am totally ignorant about. - spatso
Leafs got 7 out of 8 points in first games of the B2B games.
Just 1 out of 8 points in 2nd games of the B2B games.
Leafs need a decent backup. That's not on Babcock. - MaximusAurelius
Yes, and they need to play better on the second night. Hutchinson is a poor backup but the team has looked like poop on those second nights in front of him.
Fatigue? Lack of game shape? I'd threaten a bag skate on Day 3 if they get outworked again on the Day 2 game. I think they've got 7 more b2b's before Jan 1.

Yes, and when the refs go into every game with the idea that the Leafs will not fight through checks, and will not finish a check, they go looking for calls against them.
There is absolutely NO justification for the penalty discrepancy the last 2 weeks or so. - Aetherial
Hell, 2 years even.
Makes absolutely no sense that a team as fast and skilled as the Leafs are dead last in the entire NHL the past 2 seasons in power plays.

I think you are wrong. I believe that because of analytics Kadri was never fully valued in relation to the "character' he brought to the team. I don't know. But, my guess is you will find that the Avs are a lot more happy than the Leafs. - spatso
You can think whatever you want, you're entitled to be wrong, but it had nothing to do with analytics.
Kadri was traded because he cost the Leafs 2 straight playoff series. That's literally the entire reason.

I am just baffled that a team with this star caliber has such soft players throughout the roster. I personally found the hit on Matthews to be clean, but would still have loved to see ANYONE stick up for the kid. All they ever say after the game is "can't wait for the league to review it", which is just gutless. Komarov said the same thing when the 99 point Marchand licked his face. The game was out of reach with just minutes left, and their tough guy (at the time), took that lick even tho he had every right to beat the bark of the bruins star. This league doesn't require any more than one tough guy per team, but get one! Otherwise these teams will keep taking liberties knowing that they won't have to answer the bell, and let the league review it.

You don't need a "tough guy" you just need everybody to give a poop about each other.

having a tough guy does not stop teams from taking liberties.
we have 5000 examples of this.
It does make fans feel better thinking they have someone on the team who Stops those things.
