RB are a dime a dozen you dont need to send a high pick for a 26 year old running back - hubie
If they're trading for offense, get a receiver.
Even then, I would rather get another one-technique DT after the past two weeks. |

I don't think it's a running back issue, but more a play calling issue. - adambuffalo
Agree with play calling, are O-line is suspect, and I like having a QB that can run when he needs to. We shouldn't have to use designed runs by are QB. |

I agree with you there, a DT would be nice, still think they need another WR. |

Disagree, but need it when we really need it. I feel there have been a few times where you wonder why a designed run for the qb just happened |

I think they "could use" another receiver.
They "need" another DT. Harrison Phillips' injury is killing them. Lotulelei and Peko can't handle the reps. |

Those zone starts are still extreme If anything I think they can be compared rather than contrasted.
There is always this tendency with this fanbase to utterly trash the fired guy as 100% worthless. Housley did a terrible job, but his zone starts attitude has basically been carried over by Krueger. The difference? They're winning.
Similarly, I heard so many complaints about ice time for Risto, Sobotka, and the lockport twins, but it's basically the same for three of those guys, and Sobotka's time went up considerably.
Winning cures everything. - matty12345
Actually, according to an article ironically just published on The Athletic; they are quite different in the %'s of O-zone or D-zone starts for the guys who experienced extremes under Housley.
I.e.
- Larsson and Girgs are getting twice as many O zone starts as last year...from ~15% now up to ~35%
- Eichel and Skinner O starts are down considerably from 65% to 48% for Skinner, while Eichel from 62% to 50%
Now you can say that Larsson & Girgs are getting most of the Dzone starts ... but just not as wacked as when Phyllis was here. Some of those D zone starts have been distributed to all the other lines, with Skinner, Mojo and Sobotka filling most of the void.

Bills (and Detroit) linked to Melvin Gordon. Makes a lot of sense if they asking price isn't too high - turbo044
Gordon hasn’t even been that good with the Chargers this year and why do we need another RB??
D line
WR
O line

I tend to agree, but because of Allen's threat of running, it resulted in a wide open receiver for a td yesterday. |

Agreed, but it's clear this team is going to win with defense. They need to shore up the holes there first. If it comes down to a DT or WR, it had better be a DT because no WR, not even Green, who isn't even healthy, is going to make enough of a difference on the offense as it stands now, with the quarterback being who he is. |

Yes, but he does that without having to design runs for him, just with his scrambling |

Botts should be on the phone with Bowman regularly.
Seems Jereky Colliton their coach has put Strome in the doghouse for a game or so, banishing him to 4th line duties during that time...but he lit the lamp twice the next game.
Now it seems he is disgruntled with Perlini, having scratched him for 9 games.
Not sure I would want those guys specifically, but maybe Kirby Dach will be next and we could pry him out of there with CJ Smith |

Correct.
It’s not my first choice but if he could be had for a mid pick, I’d be for it. |

I think the NFL tends to overrate draft picks.
If you can get a proven player for a 3rd. Why not do it?
Cap space is never truly an issue in the NFL. Money is moved and shifted all the time. |

Sabres could finish 3rd in the division. I dont believe the Leafs are actually good. JT will help the leafs, yes. But their roster, while it is loaded with more top-end talent, is fatally flawed on defense. Avoid a prolonged slump, and beat the leafs head-to-head. They can finish 3rd in the division - jcragcrumple

Zone start stats are incredibly misleading in small samples and can also just be indicative of good/bad play.
When you’re a terrible D man icing the puck or getting trapped in your zone, of course you’re going to have more D zone starts
