What's this NBA thing you speak of? Seriously, I LOVE basketball, but I haven't watched an NBA game in 20+ years.

I wouldn’t bench Toews, I’d move him to 4th line center.

Who gives a poop if he's vegan (is he? I had no idea)? Why do you even care?

As far as his other stuff, if that's what he's interested in go for it. Guess what you gotta deal with people who don't think like you. Watch sports and eventually you'll swear it's Sunday morning worship service there is so much religious promotion that it borders on proselytizing. I am no fan of it, but oh well. There are other things athletes say/do I don't support, but I just watch them for the game. Whether or not I agree with Toews on climate change, I am not looking to him to get my views on it either way. And if Jacob Slavin thinks God is why Carolina made it to the Conference Finals last year I don't care about that either and my view really doesn't matter so if Jacob is good with it and it brings peace to his life then awesome.

Spoiler, he's not vegan - someone asked him at one of those NHL thingys and he laughed and said he tried, but it wasn't for him. Loves a big ol' steak, still.

I'm surprised Colliton is benching Seabrook again.

Not buying into these trade rumours. Hawks know they can't move him and his contract and doubt 7 actually wants to go anywhere.

I think this will all blow over when Seabs is back in the lineup on the weekend.

Was wondering what you would have to say about this.

I'm not surprised he sat him again tonight. The Hawks played one of their best games of the year with him out the other day. You can't ignore that. Like I said, perhaps that was just a product of playing a bad Kings team, but you won't know until you see how they play tonight against a good Nashville team.

The real question will be how do they play tonight. If they play well and win again with Koekkoek and Gilbert looking good, does JC sit him again. We'll see in a few hours what things will look like going into the next game.

Toews is a shell of a player that he use to be, he use to love hanging around the net(you rarely see that now a days) and never lost a battle along the boards. He seems to be a player playing for himself, not really a team player and not willing to commit to being the best player that he can be. one possible observation, the defenseman have gotten bigger, faster and stronger, where Toews is not as effective and takes lots of physical abuse. And maybe that pain game after game is not worth it. But Toews is a step slower. Also saw it the other day on the shorty when he trailed the play and glided a touch too early and did not intercept the pass. Don't understand it, Toews is still basically in his prime. And this has been going on since 2015 post cup.

100% agree with you and Stan Bowman posts.

I own a Toews sweater. Bought it back in 2008 summer. He just seems to have aged a helluva lot and its a rapid decrease like Seabrook. Where as Keith's even with all those miles on him has been more delayed.

Is there a coincidence there? Toews-Seabrook vs Kane-Keith? I don't know but Keith and Kane both can play an ungodly amount of minutes and not be affected. Could be genetics could be training...…

Ive just come to realize that a few of these guys are gone after this year baring a Blues type 2018-19 turnaround and a moderate playoff run. Otherwise what else does this organization have left to do? They tried loading up in 16 lost.....tinkered in 17 and were exposed.....18/19 tried crap on the fly and it bombed. 20...if it doesn't work you have to blow this thing sky high and sell high on guys you aren't willing to build around or don't want to be here.....

The delusional part of me still thinks they can be a playoff team as is.

The surprise is KooKoo. i cannot believe he has played as well as he has since returning. Minimizing mistakes and better decision making. Who would have thunk it.

Everyone has an ego...…

I am 90% sure you are right, but lets also recall during Sharp/keith gate rumors came out Hawks were shopping Sharp and then it didn't happen.....that season, but did the following. Rumors leading to an actual trade could be a year out.

Plus, if Seabrook comes back into the lineup with a "F you I'll show you " mantra and does well.....it does help the Hawks a bit.....and seattle is very close to Vancouver so that could end up being the spot...…Problem is does Bowman want cap space AND something back for Seabrook or does he just want to vanish that deal?

This is all assuming the turbulence right now settles.....if Seabrook stays out and Jeremy plays the "can't take a winner off the table" in regards to the lineup......could detonate quickly.

Ok lol. Toews has to live how he wishes, and I hope he's at peace whatever he decides.

Being a vegan is really tough, but I get it. I gave up meat for a long period of time. I eat meat now, but I am very selective about the type of mass production I am willing to support. I know my few dollars not going to the factory farms and agri-oligopolies won't mean poop, but it's how i want to live.

The Hawk playoff teams in the past (the last 10 years or so) , the team was always walking a fine line and had a enough to eek out those OT wins or 1 goal wins or flip a switch. Now we are on the other side of that. And anything is possible once you get in the playoffs (which Toews believes wholeheartedly). Best thing about Quenville, his type of game minimized injuries (including nagging injuries) that can impact close games.

FYI - our best shut down defensive men for the 2013 to 2015 were Hjammer and Oduya, not Keith.

Tonight will be exciting to see him against a legit team.

And speaking of Nashville, I hope this means that idiot troll doesn't come in tonight.

Ya, not sure if he was protected or not. But Nashville has a good 4th line and will bring an aggressive forecheck.

Even if Stan could trade Seabrook it's not like the return will be anything good. Either Stan retains 50% of Seabrook's salary or he takes back another bad contract, like Loui Eriksson. Would a trade under those conditions really be worth it?

Vopats is still around?

hasn't that @ss hat learned anything until his team actually wins? I hope he does come around.....I miss him and all those Canucks trolls.

Those early days when Al was running this board before JJ was something.

What nobody here knows...….the true variable......the room. Is Seabrook taking it like a pro or is he causing issues?

There lies your answer.

Maybe I am missing some facts and basing my opinion on past history, but DO coaches usually change line-ups after wins?

When Seabs says," I can play for SOME team", that means I can still play and want to play, not sit, and if you continue to sit, you are more willing to accept a trade...

If I had to guess I would think Seabrook is upset, but taking it like a pro which is exactly how you want a player to be.

Carbon emissions - for a sport that creates an artificial environment and in a lot of cases in areas where it could never occur naturally and even then gets played into June.

Now that's just rich... :D said the guy that plays hockey in Perth WA.

Seriously... that made my day .... now I have to find my salad shirt ....

I agree and I can't imagine being a professional player and being scratched and then have to talk about it...…

Hawks need to put together a winnign streak here after completely whiffing on a huge gift from the NHL with 7 straight home games after a trip to Europe.

Maybe the bigger question, will Seabrook come prepared for the next game mentally? Change the type of game he plays? Start working on his game?

FYI - maybe this was just a bad game and every player has them. But he has to know his game is slipping, does he let it degrade more or do something about it.

Absolutely. I gotta say I loved his game against the Kings, but they are playing adult hockey tonight. Cautiously optimistic we can pull the upset. Man it would do wonders for the guys before heading out West.

And to piggyback off what Tyler said, I TOO am stunned Seabrook is benched a 2nd straight game. Most of us think it's time, but it still sucks to see it happen. Dude has been nothing but a man for the Hawks a long time.

I guess JC is figuring if I go down, I go down his way. For those that are stunned (I am surprised, not stunned), would you have criticized the coach for putting him in and sitting either Gilbert or KK? I would of.
