long time no hear...welcome back...after another well earned blackhawk debacle - bogiedoc
Lol yeah, I was hoping to be able to be miss positivity upon return but alas.
Though I will say for something positive: I do think the team has talent and quality players to be good (like WC good) but I don't think it's being driven by the right guy. |

the kings fired gumby and lombardi 2 years ago and on their 3rd coach since then and they still suck...
firing stanbow and JC ain't gonna solve the reality that once was great will become bad... |

At this point, I'll concede to Scottak. Agree, I think Bowman's moves this summer were good. Idk...if this is a case of some of the high paid veterans not showing respect to the coach, maybe some of them should follow him out of town if possible. - HawkintheD
Yes, sir. If the coach loses the room, it means some vets allowed it to happen, at least to some degree. |

The brain trust in CSN actually said the guys were over thinking. Huh? - Googlyeyes
the over thinking guys are NBCSporstChicago tools who cannot seem to figure things out until someone leads them in a direction, lol.

Have been thinking similar. Send him down. Let some of the other kids like Nylander keep finding his game with the big club.
Maybe get another top 5 pick if this is how the season continues to play out...and if they are out by the deadline, make some other trades and accumulate picks. - HawkintheD
I think Dach is the real deal but send him back to the W and recall Sikura.
I wonder when we're going to hear from Stan. The moves he made over the summer, plus drafting Dach should have made the team better but they are worse. |

Most playoff teams would be hard pressed to fit him and Idk if he'd waive for anything less than that - or at least one that might have more of a perceived chance than the Hawks in the next year or so. - L_B_R
I wasn’t thinking he would be moved at the TDL - for reasons you state - but I wouldn’t be surprised if he requested a move over the summer if he doesn’t see much reason for optimism here b |

Allowed it to happen? Or caused it to happen. I was open to seeing what JC brought but he’s younger and has less experience than some of the vets. Not sure how Kane, Toews, Keith or Seabs can respect a guy when the system just doesn’t seem to work (it’s apparent to us posters I assume the players know it too). This core has played a lot of hockey and know a lot about hockey. You think Kane and Toews are listening to what JC is chirping in their ears on the bench? Probably not. |

My Kirby Dach meter was at 95% he was staying in Chicago.
It's now at about 70% that he stays.
We'll see if he can get it going this weekend but only played an uneventful 12 mins tonight.
Curious to see if Colliton ramps up his usage soon to see what the kid really has before they make a decision. - Tyler Cameron
I guess I see that: Maybe you don’t burn a year off Dach’s deal...if he isn’t gonna get close to a playoff team...let him wait until Mitchell and Boqvist are ready to add speed to the back line.
maybe they let JC stay -The fact that Nylander Dach and Kubalik are sudden big leaguers tells me they know they are in transition so the firing of the coach may not be wise with the opportunities they handed out via acquisitions. Don’t fault SB for trying JC, but rushed him with no AHL success. JC still the link to the swedes -the old goon coach intern (until Babcock gets fired) or permanent offers little. I wouldn’t be surprised that a 3 ring winning team dismisses a young coach. Even though they had success with #8 on that 3rd line you gotta see how he does with skilled top wings...
Don’t fault SB for trying via trades, on JC, but rushed him with no AHL success. (not sure)
what can goon coach Crawford offer this group?

Lehner's post game interview makes me think this is exactly the kind of player you build upon and around. I just hope he decides to stay. - ItHossaGood
look, Nashville might be in the goalie market...why wouldn't he go UFA?

Bowman should get some credit with his critique. He did sign Lehner, Carpenter has been a good b6 pick-up, and trading for guys like De Haan and Kubalik are real nice. And even though I'm jaded about the Jokiharju trade, Nylander has been good the last handful of game.
Then you have the downs: Smith is trash, the Jokiharju trade did leave them down to only 3 RD in system (with one being injury prone), and JC hasn't been a good coach. - L_B_R
for sure...the throw stanbow overboard winsocking here gets tiring...
the cup core is hollowed and their is no calvary to save the day...

As I said when Marc Crawford was brought in, that could add to the (subconscious) lack of respect. "if this guy needs a babysitter, why should I listen to him?" or "Well, he's on his way out.."
Remember, they were there when Q was in same role for Savvy. |

I understand "blame the coach" is the low hanging fruit many disgruntled fans grab at but it seems a little far fetched to believe Colliton wants his team to look like a Chinese fire drill in their d-zone. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's more likely the other teams are quicker, stronger and better disciplined than the Hawks players. I suppose the discipline part can be hung on the coach but even then - is it his coaching or the inability and/or the unwillingness of the players to play a more disciplined defensive game? I tend to think the latter. Is it the coach's design for players to miss passes? I doubt it. But their passing is atrocious. Is it the coach's design for them to lose board battles all game long? Probably not.
Blaming the coach is the easy out and sometimes the coach pays the price whether he deserves it or not - part of the business. But I think the reason for the poor play should be laid squarely at the feet of the players. They simply aren't good enough to win the battles that need to be won to be a successful team.
So fire the coach ... I guess. |
