Bit of a he said, he said going on right now in regards to whether or not there was a conversation. I agree 100% with your take on what Seabs deserves and if JC didn't talk to him frankly, then he lose all credibility as a great communicator and development coach (which is supposedly why he was hired). I find it hard to believe he wouldn't have, but never know...

If he didn't show him that respect, he will lose that room

- pdx2ord

I feel that if Seabs is such a great leader, this is the time for him to show it. Accept the fact that you are not dressing, be a good team player, and don't make waves. As hard as that may be, it shows more character to just eat your words that to say you are disappointed in not playing, that is obvious.

I really, really hope he is traded so he can be remembered here as the fantastic player he has been, rather than the cap albatross his contract has become.

We were lucky to have him.

- mohel

Lets not get carried away, Seab is doing just fine and will have no trouble cashing his paycheck and checking his bank balance, regardless of what anyone thinks.

Someone in the equipment room has got to have one of Hossa's old shin guards laying around....

And you bench 19 at the same time. 19 has been horse crap all year, but hey....glad he time to sit down and map out a schedule to fix the nHL…..maybe he spend the next segment finding his game?

Never have seen a NHL player fall down is much as 19 does....it's truly remarkable. If 19 is not surrounded by talent on his line, he's not making others better and you can't designate 10.5 million of your cap space to a guy like that.

Respect 2/7/19/88/50 for the past glory, but midnight has struck for everyone not named Kane in that group.

- SteveRain

Please read before making false comments. Toews didn’t sit down and draw up a schedule, ‘The Athletic’ did, based on 19’s desire to reduce travel and the NHL’s carbon footprint.

Seabrook is not good anymore, and should spend much of his time in the press box.

That said, he’s an alternate captain, the team leader in the locker room, and part of the core that brought 3 Stanley Cups to the franchise.

He deserves a little more from his coach than being ignored, and not spoken to. JC couldn’t find the time over 48 hours to have a frank conversation with the heart of the team?

#CollitonSucks.

Soccer Mom post of the day....

Maybe they should have an emotional sit down in the penalty box after the morning skate and cry it out.

I want my head coach focused on the next opponent and preparing the team that is taking the ice.

Truth is, space is what is needed here. Seabrook would not want any of his questions answered honestly.

Well, he did say he thought it was a great win against LA and hopes for another big win tonight. Both times, he's stayed out on the ice with Crow to shoot etc. way after morning skate. So, while he might have reacted in anger when 12 microphones were shoved in his face looking for a hot take reaction, he is not sitting and pouting about it. Still putting in the work on the ice.

If Toews really has bought in to the carbon footprint Bull poop, that says it all about your vegan captain.

Meanwhile, all your elite players fly around the country in private planes the rest of the year.

Now you’re full of BS. In any business, if you treat employees with respect, they will do a better job for you. I can pull out hundreds of management books that will say exactly the same thing. Treat your employees like crap, you’ll end up with crappy employees.

Well, if StanBo does something like this, he should be run out of town

Satchel Price
@SatchelPrice

You get the sense this is gonna end with something like Seabrook ($$$ retained), Ian Mitchell and a draft pick being sent to Vancouver for Loui Eriksson

- pdx2ord

Would shovel face realize how bad that trade would be
and hence know the need to get rid of Stan fro making it.

Also is it true the Hawks can only retain 50%

Probably this: https://www.nhltraderumor...t-to-trade-brent.html?m=1

It references Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings and the Winnipeg Jets as possible suitors!

- walleyeb1

Seabrook for Jeff Carter. Both are on horrid contracts, both way past their prime. LA's defense is worse thn our, Carter might be a good PP specialist, at the very least can play some C and RW

First of all, you have no idea what has been done. What has been said.

Seabrook is a veteran, if he does not know why he is not playing....then there is nothing anyone can tell him.

The projection and assumption many proceed with is staggering...its like Springer show on here some days.

So you believe that the rest of the team will go on strike and play bad on purpose or some other dumb poop? Again, if so, exhibit A of entitled hockey team.

Truth is, it sucks. Everyone knows it and as men know, often there is nothing to say.

I am surprised nobody is saying maybe we are getting everything Toews has to give, this is what he is...

Therefore, sitting him doesn't do anything.

- rpeters01

could make the same argument for Seabrook as well......

Read the article before commenting. And they’re not ‘my’ players.

And god forbid the NHL do something to benefit the planet. I assume you’re for going back to dumping raw sewage in lakes and rivers, and generating all power from coal?

You must really have enjoyed when the Cuyahoga river caught fire. Good times!

It must suck to be you.

HA.....must have confused that with his green gardening ambition. Glad he's hell bent on not traveling. Plenty of time to stay up on the irrigation requirements back at home.

Toews has been sub par, save for last year, far too much season after season.

It's not just a "oh he's off" and now it's a "he's no where near the ROI the Hawks have in him"

It should be interesting tonight in how Keith, Toews and Kaner react
to this do they take the night off or play lights out.

Kane wore the A against the Kings, a sign of things to come?

I expect they will play hard again, whether because of Seabs, because it's Nashville, or both. Kane has been the A since Hossa left, when one of the primary guys is out.

IF seabrook didn't care it would be a little more alarming.

I miss the days debating about who to scratch in a playoff game...….

I gotta say - there's only so much "give-a-f#ck" investment I have left for anything Hawks related that isn't about team success right now. I love and appreciate what Seabrook has done for the Hawks over the past decade plus but I'm a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks - not the the Chicago Seabrooks - and it's pretty inarguable to state Seabrook's presence on the Hawks makes the team worse, not better. I don't hold it against him for signing the $6.8M contract - I would have done the same - but his contract is hurting the Hawks more than his play on the ice is helping them - so if they can move him - do it so long as it doesn't require losing a good young asset to do it.

Nice projection..

So what has been done to benefit the planet? They all fly on private chartered flights, do you know how many empty seats are on their planes? If somehow that makes you feel good, throw on your hemp jersey and have a salad.

Planes have not and never will run on coal.

Still lost on how carbon is saved, when each team has to play a defined schedule in other cities...not sure how that equates to less sewage being dumped in lakes and rivers...but hey have at it...it sooo cool you care so much!!!

Kane should be a permanent "A"

Guy plays hard every night and sets a good example in and out of the room

The Canadian triplets have a large ownership in this decline and inability to get out from under it since outside of Toews's year last year, those 3 have gotten worse each and every year...….

And Im speaking more about 19 who I have come to grips is one of those guys who truly doesn't care to put in the extra work to get better. If he did the numbers would show it.....he does what's asked and that's it. I remember back in 07-08 when the Hawks were pimping his wrist shot as "sakic esq" and well...….

Yes, I would trade 19 tomorrow....sell high while you still can.

well said and they should do that with 19 and anyone else who is diminishing returns right now.

Sell high......I promise you the fan base understands lots of guys of yester-year are no where near the players they once were.

hell 77 could be 19's replacement long term.....

Back in my day, we learned that disagreeing with people did not equate to hate and racism and a hyperbolic response. We did not have fragile thin skin and need constant re assurement and a support network.

We typically digested and exchanged facts, not feelings, and went along with our day without feeling the need to virtue signal.

Truth is, nothing says you have nothing to say, like name calling.

Don't forget livestock.....their gas gives off a lot CO2 emissions...….

Maybe Toews would like a nice bus ride from Chicago to LA and then up to San Jose then up to Vancouver over to Edmonton and Calgary down to Minnesota and back to Chicago. Say......in January? That should save 1/100000000th of the ozone layer.
