Did you see over in Garth's blog the one guy said Lowry for Risto. |

Of course, if the sky potentially were to fall, waiting until it actually hit you in the head would probably be stupid.
So it's only dumb if you're confident the sky isn't going to fall. If it's still way up there, but looks a lot like its hurdling down towards you, getting a helmet wouldn't be the worst idea.
We will know in a month who is right... |

I never read in the Garth blog
If what Homie continues to say is true,
Risto isn’t getting moved
It’ll be interesting to see how Kruger does the pairs once Montour & Scandella are back healthy

Just to clarify...
you’d like Botts to make a trade NOW, correct? |

Not necessarily a trade, because I don't know what the offers are. If something good is on the table, sure. If not, I'm happy to watch him wait for another 20-30 games.
What I need to happen now is some internal adjustment to what I see are trends. 13 games is enough to establish who is having good seasons and bad seasons, what lines are generating 5v5, who deserves more or less ice time, etc. There is just no excuse for the Sobotka experiment to keep going more than 13 games, there is no excuse to keep playing Mittelstadt so little when he's looked great, there is no reason to keep Olofsson on the first line when he can still be on PP1 from the second or third, etc.
React to what is going on in the games and be proactive to optimize the roster with what you have. |

I would suspect at that point that someone else will be banged up. Typically how things seem to work most of the time. |

Kind of like how we were 7-0-1 and the analytics were starting to show caution signs and the theme of the week was “screw your fancy stats the team is 7-0-1”
Now that the team has gone 2-2-1 in the past five games I’ve seen much more talk of the “fancy stats” that people were critical of pointing towards this recent 5 game stretch. |

I'm hoping that the couple days of normal practice this week will help get the issues back under control. Things have been hectic. Let's see if Krueger is able to reel them back in a bit and get them to re-focus. |

Just get one of those android boxes. I pay 15 bucks a month and I have every channel, including all sorts of international channels, even porn channels, which of course I never watch.
That + NHL package costs me <400 bucks for the whole year. - matty12345

It's interesting to remember last year the team was 17-6-2. To get there, we will need to go 8-4 against a brutal November schedule, which I honestly don't see them doing.
October hockey results don't mean much. That's why you have to look at the advanced stats to be able to predict who can sustain it all season. |

Let's see what happens when Krueger can actually work on things, see with time to work with the players if they make those adjustments. Teams are doing to us what we were doing to them in the beginning of the year, with a little practice time what adjustments do the Sabres make. |

So Last Week Tonight, basically. Or the Colbert Report. Or the daily show.
God, I hate how political comedy became at some point. |

Getting the good version of Dahlin is gonna help.
Adding a top 6 winger can help too.
I really hope Botts does the obvious, best thing for this team. |

So what are u proposing with the lines then?
Bc it sounds like u wanna change every line except 28-22-21
That’s quite an overhaul when the team’s record is
9-2-2
I get ppl want us to proactively improve us,
but these moves could also make us worse
Why risk that when we are winning at this pace? |

In the meantime, I'd try this:
Sheary Eichel Reinhart
Skinner Mojo Okposo
Olofsson Mittelstadt Vesey
Girgs Larsson Sobotka |

Because 'this pace' is 2-2-1, and all we seem capable of is 2 goals a game? Line changes aren't a big deal, most coaches change lines up all the time. What are the odds Krueger's first crack at groupings is actually the optimal one?
See my last post for the lines I would try.
I would also like to see him come up with a definitive answer within the system for how he plans to deal with 2 deep forecheckers, because right now the team has no answer for being pressured in their own end.
Lastly, stop leaning so hard on McCabe and Risto in the thirds. Maybe the other guys can't handle tough assignments, but those two have proven they can't. Dahlin may give up a dumb goal, or he might also help you get the puck out to play a few shifts in the other end. They didn't play like this in the beginning, and it's 100% on Krueger that he has retreated into a shell recently, when he wasn't doing that the first 5 games. |
