You're attributing Skinner's elite 5-on-5 scoring ability and Mojo's stellar play with Sobotka being on their line. All of the metrics point to them succeeding despite Sobotka, not because of him - jcragcrumple

We should crush the skins ...... but the bills will grind out a normal win where we limp to the finish line - Sabretooth9
I think the weather is supposed to suck again. But it's like 4 days away yet, and forecasts change. The 49ers should've killed them too and they only managed 3 FGs because of the weather. |

Read the last two pages please where I and 4 other people have made points of merit which you disregard and plow forward notwithstanding those points. All because Jeff Skinner in one occasion said a nice thing in an interview about a linemate. Any objective review of sobotka’s play says you are basing your argument on nothing more: a nice thing Skinner said in an interview about a linemate - with no specifics.
And I know you don’t care what I think, or anybody else does, for that matter. There is a word for that: sociopath. - Der Kaiser
I believe Skinner has a better idea of what makes that line successful than you or me or anyone else here
And obviously Kruger feels the same
But apparently u think u know better than them
There’s a word for that...
delusional
If u said anything of substance,
then i would care
Yet u don’t
Also, u aren’t correct about the definition of sociopath
It’s just another (not so clever) way for u to take a personal jab at me
Grow up

Is there something specific that u can point to that backs this up?
I specifically pointed out an example early in the season about how he drove to the net,
backing up a defenseman to open up the cross ice passing lane for the MoJo to Skinner goal
Skinner himself was even saying how Sobotka is helping play a role on that line being successful - jdfitz77
The point is they can be MORE successful with a better player. |

I would argue that that's almost the secondary benefit
The primary benefit is that a better player is better, and therefore an upgrade at the specific position. If we assume Sobotka is going to get 7-10 goals, then an actual 2nd line player capable of 15-20 is an upgrade.
Why am I doing this? Nevermind |

Playing a guy down a line means u have to play guys up a line also
That’s how Kuhnackle & Sheary we’re in the top6 for 2 Cup wins & Kessel was on line3
Would i be ok if we traded for Ehlers & put him in the top6 over Sobotka?
Of course
But I’m also not feeling out about it right now when that line is clearly doing so well
And i have zero problem with Botts being patient enough to get the deal he wants
Too many are making it sound as if there’s a good deal available right now & Botts is just choosing not to make it
That doesn’t seem logical to me - jdfitz77
Who's going to play up on line 2 RW if Sobotka is playing up taking his place?
Right. Nobody cause there isn't a 2RW on this team...well, maybe Reino. |

That’s not at all what I’m doing
I’m not saying Skinner is a good scorer bc Sobotka is on that line
I’m saying it doesn’t make sense to say he’s dragging that line down,
when they’re actually performing well |

The team is playing decent, it's funny how Botts makes some trades to get some decent players Miller, Joker but all of a sudden Botts doesn't want to make a trade to improve the team. Either he hasn't gotten offered what he wants, or nothing has come up. Botts can be patient right now, are team is playing alright and there's teams out there hurting and Botts is holding some cards that teams will want. - Buff36

Bc I’m trying to see what Sobotka brings to the table, as per Skinner?
I think the ones dismissing it are the ones being stubborn & difficult
Also...
was i being stubborn & difficult when i was right about ROR and most on here were wrong?
What about when just about everyone wanted Larsson & Girgs gone TWO YEARS AGO,
and i got bashed for saying they could be decent players given the right role?
Or how about how so many on here said that Okposo should be sent down to the AHL this year and I was the only one who said he’s actually an effective bottom6 player- just overpaid
I think maybe you’re just confusing “stubborn & difficult” for “correct” - jdfitz77
Point by point:
You were hardly alone in being "right" about ROR.
The twins don't allow goals, great, they don't score any either, and that's the object of the game. They're like faceoffs, they don't matter until they do.
Pretty much everyone said that.

But does that line (*as a whole) score 8-10 more goals?
Or does the upgraded player just take away goals that are currently being scored by MoJo & Skinner? |

I'm halfway through Joker right now. I almost turned it off after the first 10 minutes.
It's horrible. It's so directionless and pointless... It's incredibly vapid. - BeadyEyedDouche
Everyone likes it so I hate it!!!!
Way to be a contrarian.
I haven't seen it yet, I'm waiting for a good HD stream just like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. |

Sobotka is not performing well based on the definition of a 2RW.
Skinner and Mojo are playing well. Again, you're conflating the excellent performances of 2 players with Sobotka's role in the equation, which is negligible at best, and if you believe the advanced metrics, he is actively hurting them |

1) i said “most” not that i was the only one
2) most ppl wanted them off the team 2 years ago
They play their role well. You’re just wrong here
3) no, there were MANY who wanted Okposo waived & said he was “done”
You’re especially wrong here |

Well i have no doubt that at some point Sheary, Vesey, Tage, etc will end up getting a shot there
So i guess we will see
For now...
I’m content to judge that line as a group
And the group is producing well |

It wasn't even close to "most". It was a few.
They play their role at being useless well, awesome.
Yeah, he's done at being an effective top 6 player.

Well, with 3 good players, they have a higher probability of sustaining what 2 and a pylon are doing now |

Yes, if you give Sobotka credit for Skinner's 7 even strength goals that Sobotka hasn't done anything to create, Sobotka is doing terrific |

Bullcrap
Most definitely approved of that terrible ROR trade
They’re not useless, you’re wrong
Larsson & Girgs start an overwhelming amount of time in their own end, and tilt the ice in the other direction
And usually against top6 talent
You’re so wrong here it’s ridiculous
And yeah, Okposo isn’t an effective top6 player
But while most wanted him waived,
i argued that he was a decent bottom6 player
For which i was told i was wrong
But he’s playing pretty well in his role
You’re way off here dude |
