Another back-handed swipe at JC

Not good

- Return of the Roar

Looks like a team trying to get their coach fired. Stan doesn't seem like the type to storm into the locker room and stand up for JC and tell those guys to suck it up. I can see Lamiorello, Burke and maybe Tallon doing something like that, but not Stanbo. Maybe Rocky needs to have a face to face with the club and remind them who signs their checks.

The Captain is angry

"nothing is consistent right now"

- pdx2ord

well i disagree..its perfectly consistent with last year and the trends of the last 3 years...

they don't have the puck, they can't get the puck and they can't keep the puck...

74 shot attempts by the (frank)n kings tonight..

I thought Crawford played well after he came back from his concussion protocol. Toews scored from Kane. Dach, Boquist, Kubalik, & Nylander showed some skills from time to time. Lehner had a good six minutes. Scored a PP goal. Didn't give up a PP goal. Keith wasn't terrible. Um, that's all I got.
- matt_ahrens

this game is 5-2 or worse with out his heroics after coming back...

hooray for the pp 4-35...

Trouble is they sign their checks win or lose and are untradeable. A not so Velvet Revolution may very well be what is going on. The front office has zero leverage.

And today, both Toews and Kane have made comments about needing to get back to a transition game, carrying the puck up ice.

Silver Lining is that the Hawks should get another Top 5 pick so you hope that Dach, Boqvist, Mitchell, Debrincat, Strome & 2020 Pick can gel with the vets in Saad, Kane, Toews next year.

On paper this team should not be this bad. But Kane, Cat, Strome, Toews all 70+ point scoring paces last year and all of them are nowhere near that level of play.

Debrincat got lucky by signing his extension early.

see even the "C" agrees after review

Toews: "There's situations where we have momentum and we just find ways to let it go."

"If we get it out of our zone, they just get it right back, fire it right back in. We're spending all our time in our own zone, so it gets tiring."

Yeah, if you can catch the full interview, it's worth watching. Not a guy who doesn't care, but definitely one who is extremely frustrated.

If the players are not buying in or maybe just don't have the talent it don't matter I'm sorry but the coach has to go . I can't believe how fast this season is going down the drain .

Does anyone know why we didn't play same lineup that trounced the Kings last game? (other than Boqvist subbing for Gus, obviously)

Caggiula scored against them, but he sits this game.

So they want to go back to old way of playing, the same way they have been playing which the rest of the NHL knows, and beats us. I'm getting tired of their excuses.

From everything I have been reading, the system JC employs is similar to Trots in NY, and virtually every team who are successful right now. So the problem isn't the system it's the veterans who don't want to play it.

We are never going to win another cup in the old system. period. The NHL has evolved.

Is there any other explanation for this debacle of a season. Each of your defense pairs had issues. Strome line has to be outscoring it's opposing line or they are a liability. Toews is not working very well but there is moreover no improvement in defensive coverage Crawford might get better effort and results from players if he chanes the system as Colliton's replacement. Yet following this season if Bowman isn't gone, he better have a convincing plan and he is maybe going to be forced to minimize Seabrook and possibly Toews I withhold judgment on Toews since I don't know why he has been so bad - I can only guess. But the daysif the creguys Beng umprtat cgs are over Keith is the only one I have much hope to still play half descent (and he always had a penchant for bonehead plays(.

They better find someone to takeoveras the first pair guy. DeHahn and Mitchell maybe Beaudin next season. Either Koekkoek or Murphy could stick around if they keep it simple.

Well, Doughty was a lot more kind than Rinne

Ben Pope

Doughty on the Blackhawks: "When I look across, I see 3-time Stanley Cup champions... Those are some guys that not only do I love playing against, but also some guys I look up to their game. So, it never feels like a bottom-of-the-standings matchup when we play these guys.”

If I were Stan, I would put in a call to dad, and get him in there and see what he thinks. It would be good for JC and the team.

I thought Hoss was assuredly coming back once his AZ contract ran out. If you know where to live and everything and are comfortable Chicago can be the best place ever. Minus the taxes. Minus living where you feel like any passing car might have a guy who will shoot at you at any point. Minus the weather fluctuating 30 degrees everyday. If you are rich then it is the greatest. And on a side note while I'm ranting...nobody from the burbs with a garage should ever claim to be from Chicago.

Neither should people who transplant from other parts of the country and don't really know Richard about the city or area.

Just sayin...not saying you, but that always annoyed me. Was dating a woman who moved to the Chicago area from Buffalo. Her sister followed her out and lived downtown and referred to people from the burbs as "708'ers".

I've read that too about Hossa...maybe in the Athletic. Either way, it sounded like when the contract is over there is a job waiting for him with the Hawks, though they didn't specify the capacity.

transition game???

to play that you need:

speed, skill and passing
you gotta get the puck and get it out with one or two passes
you have to create turnovers
you have to be tight in the neutral zone and blueline: teams enter the zone way easy vs the hawks

the hawks are below avg on all the above...
