Hey man. We all are die hard Hawks fans. Reality is that they are not playing in a way that leads to consistent Victories. Once again giving up almost 40 shots, and only 2 goals scored in regulation. Lehner standing on his head only gets you so far when you struggle to score like they have. More numbers for you...

31 NHL teams

Goals Scored : 29th
Shots Against: 30th
Powerplay: 28th
Points %: 26th
Playoff Probability: 13.7%

Lehner is an absolute monster. He’s not the product of anyone’s system. He’s a sensational athlete and easily one of the best goalies in the NHL right now.
- SimpleJack

And a damn good quote in interviews:

Ben Pope
@BenPopeCST

Lehner on his save % being even higher this year with the Hawks than last year with the Isles:

"People talk a lot about last year, but I played for arguably the worst defensive team in the league for three years in Buffalo, so it's nothing new."

I don’t disagree that they are not playing great hockey, but my statement still stands, 13 games. So goals scored 29th in the league, therefore at the end of season they will be 29th in the league, because, well because 13 games tells you so.

Sikura will not get it done. Would you do Kampf and Sikura for Danault?

Loved Boqvist’s game tonight, and I like the Kids + Toews PP unit.

If Sikura were to be called up, who would he replace? Not totally against the idea, in principle.

Perhaps Wedin recalled first. Perhaps there will be an injury

BTW was Crawford the back up vs Ducks? Did he pass on the concussion protocol

The Hawks targeted him in the 2017 draft but the Habs took him first.

Yes, he was the backup. Apparently he passed the protocol. Wedin works hard and is a hustler. Yes To Youth!!!

Didn’t read back, but from five rows off the glass:
1) Toews and Saad really strong on the puck.
2) Boqvist skates and reacts incredibly fast.
3) Dach had a decent game, but you can tell he is still a bit timid. It doesn’t seem to be the size/speed of the opponent. It’s more what his assignment is and where he is supposed to be.
4) Toews second slash was bad on him. The first one was one of the weakest penalties I’ve seen. He was chirping the refs a lot, but it was more about penalties that weren’t called on Kane and Dach specifically.
5) still lots of sloppy passing. I counted five times where a Hawk made a pass to no one and both the passer and the intended receiver looked mad and confused with a lot of “talking” afterwards.

Nice to see a win. Would love to see them build off of this.

Agree. It was like the icing being called a couple times from right around center ice that the refs normally give the shooting team. If you can see they're calling it, don't do it.

Hope they can build off the win too and would keep the top two lines together from the game:

20 19 92
12 17 88

and maybe...

65 77 8
91 22 64

Hey guy,

Dach has averaged 11:20 minutes for the season. Bust my balls over 1:20 seconds a game, but I guess that’s how you get your kicks. He should be seeing 15+ minutes a night or it’s foolish to waste a contract year for a Cap strapped team Far from Title Contention.

Per Scott Powers post game article, he said Kirby has been limited because he has been targeted by opposing teams and has been hit hard.

... just got home ... watched the highlights ... SH breakaway ... right by 56 ... awesome --- I wonder how many short handed breakaways he's on the ice for ... sort of obviates this 'pp QB' thing ... sorta like an pick specialist in football ... what's the point again (pun not intended).

Powers excerpt on Dach...

Dach, the third overall pick in the 2019 draft, continues to establish that case, too. He earned a permanent invitation to stay with the Blackhawks with his two-way play through six games and became the first Blackhawks draft pick since Kane to stick in the NHL in his draft year.

Since then, Colliton has shown he’s going to slowly add more onto Dach’s plate. He was placed as a net-front presence on a power-play unit for the first time leading into Saturday’s game and set up a goal for Dominik Kubalik at the net. It’s apparent Dach’s ice time could vary game by game, but he was moved up into a top-nine role Sunday and played 12:37. He’s been north of 12 minutes in five of his eight games.

“He’s shown he can help us and he’s only going to get better,” Colliton told reporters when announcing the organization’s decision to not send Dach back to juniors. “I think the player he is now, there’s likely going to be a huge improvement as the year goes on and the player (he is) in February I’m sure is going to be an impact player for us.”

An excerpt from the Athletic and Kevin Fishbain on the Bears...

Mitch Trubisky quarterbacked the worst half of offense for the Bears in the past 40 years.

Think about that. Think about how bad the Bears have been on offense, all the below-average quarterbacks in their history. And how the game is much easier for offenses in 2019 than it was even 10, 15 years ago.

Yet Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field was the low point. Not even the offenses in the John Fox era had that bad of a half.

One first down. Zero-for-6 on third down. Nine net yards of offense. Trubisky was 6-of-13 for 24 yards, averaging 1.84 yards per attempt. David Montgomery had three carries for 1 yard.

He has to wait until January 1st... but yes... 12:01am in 1/1... sign him!
- Tyler Cameron

Will be interesting to see if Lehner wants to stay in Chicago. He will have a lot of interest from other teams as well if he does not sign. He will need to see that this team can be a playoff team next year and beyond that. If he does not see that, or he does not like what he sees in JC and his system, he might not sign.

Yea he's been a target. I don't expect the NHL to turn into the NBA but it boggles my mind they call such random soft penalties and Kane gets taken down in the corner and no call? The last 2 games the opponent has been able to control us with their free hand on the body but it seems like as soon as the Hawks do it they get called for holding or interference.
