Number one, Searook cannot be sent to Rockford.

Two, under no circumstance should the Hawks trade their #1 pick in 2020 unless the return is an established star player who is 23 years old or younger (and no team is gonna make that trade). The Goal is to rebuild not make the playoffs this season.

Not arguing the validity over Seabrook not heading to Rockford. Just wanna know why that can't happen. Leaving Seabrook aside for one moment........

That's the scary thing. How many of our young guys developed PRIMARILY in Rockford have stuck or had success in the NHL? Was Shaw the last guy?

Danault - yes, a couple of years.

Teravainen - only 39 games in Rockford - not sure you can say his development happened there - or Sweden, Chicago, or Raleigh.

Wonder how our prospect selection and development success rate compares to other teams?

I threw up a little on the suggestions for GM replacement. Sorry TC but 🤮

Coach replacement would Marco Strum Germany’s head coach and assistant coach in LA I believe.

GM replacement would be internal.

I find it hard to believe that the Hawks are making these decisions on Dach and Boqvist for Public Relations reasons. The Hawks are in the basement of the NHL, with a League Worst Powerplay, and close to the league worst offensive production.

Maybe, Kirby Dach is just a really good hockey player who is 6'4" 200lbs at 18 years old and the team views him as an asset that makes them a more competitive hockey club right now. Maybe Adam Boqvist can help get some production from the Powerplay since Eric Gustaffson has provided virtually nothing offensively.

Kirby Dach: 6 games played, 11:59 TOI, 1G, 1A , Even +/-, 9 SOG

Jonathan Toews: 11 games played, 19:50 TOI, 1G ,1A, -5, 21 SOG

I'd love to see Dach get a look on the Top PP unit, and to play consistent minutes with Kane.

Only for a #1 qualified/experienced dman would I consider trading a #1. Then if iin top five picks (in other words whatever the top tier is according to wiz)would not trade it

Not much to disagree with. IMHO the team needs to adopt the Patriots strategy, Only the star of stars is retained - everyone else is expendable BEFORE they hit the cliff. Oh and a world class coach would help.
- riozzo

This seems to be a solid strategy. But you have to draft and develop well.

Maybe Dach is one of those rare 18 year olds who has nothing left to learn in Junior? But what is the point of taking a chance? If the team was a contender and he appeared to be important to the team in a specific position, I'd get it. But we're talking about a team who appears headed to the bottom quarter of the league.

Development is as crucial as selecting draft picks. Dach was a good, not great, junior player. He wasn't putting up numbers remotely like kane did in his draft year although he seems to be more accomplished in other areas. With the way the season is shaping up I'd prefer to keep Dach out of Chicago which could get negative in a real hurry. Send him back to junior. Let him dominate in Saskatoon. Let him play in the World Juniors. Let him work on areas of his game that need improvement. There's no hurry for him to be in Chicago.

He also played on a way pooptier team than Kane did with less talent around him. Not saying he would have put up Kane numbers under different circumstances

Dach does appear to handle himself well as a young player. My biggest concern deals with the inherent aggressiveness that young kids think they can handle, but really can't, because their bodies are not fully developed. Questionable move from a very limited perspective. Hope he doesn't get launched, in order to fulfill a PR obligation.

Adam Boqvist is paired with Duncan Keith during #Blackhawks' practice in El Segundo, Calif.

Boqvist is displaying some exceptional offensive moves during drills.

Too bad he's a D man

Good grief...is that PP clause still in effect in Keith's contract?

Apparently, he’s also on the top PP line.

Over/under on shots into shin-pads - 3.5....

I'm beginning to think that that PP clause is still in effect in his contract. So, so silly.
