Good post!
But some have pointed to 9-2-2 as a reason to sit pat. - IonSabres
Informal survey results, based entirely on anectdotal not empirical evidence, suggests that olives are disfavored in that segment of the Sabres fan base that chooses to express a preference in these threads.
While both varieties are disfavored among respondents, the evidence suggests black olives are less repugnant than green. |

aside from skinner
the sabres are not a good shooting team
eichel and reinhart are ok
everyone else, none of them are great shooters
you can have all the shots in the world on net, but it means nothing if your a blah shooter, and there is nobody down low that can bury the rebound - homiedclown
Okposo is actually a sniper ...... he consistently shoots the puck over the net. 98% of the time.

I may have to disagree. I do feel both are bad, however green are more tolerable when soaked in vodka (or gin) and vermouth. Black have nothing positive going for them. |

It helps when you get your shot thru, they must of had 20 shots blocked last night. Krueger needs to tell them they don't need to make that pretty pass, or skate around the next six times and then throw a pass to nobody. Teams are taking away are speed, horrible outlet passes. |

Was fast and tough enough to set up the OT winner |

it's time to make a move
I don't care if it's mccabe for a legit prospect
risto for 3 prospects
or a few of our prospects for a legit top 6 player
the ship is sinking fast, been sinking since the stars game |

We have 5-6 D men who are interchangeable for the most part
Risto
McCabe
Montour
Miller
Scandella
All of them are vets, none are worlds better or worse than the others (I think McCabe has been pretty awful this season outside of 2 games)
And we have Gilmour, Pilut, who are at the worst, 6-7 NHL D.
Move one. Like ASAP |

Hughes or Turcotte? (Sarcasm)
Caufield can score We know that. Sabres still need a 2C. We are waiting if mitts can do it. If not. Cozens will be a perfect Eichel lite 2C |

Botts is a patient guy ..... we all know he’s not going to pull the trigger or act quickly

Weissbach is a junior so he’s clearly a bust and his stats don’t matter.

He should.
Our team defense for the most part is good.
We generate almost nothing offensively |

We lack size, speed, and a 2C. Cozens is a better fit then Caufield. |

I want a move to, but you guys think as easy as picking up the phone. Sure players could probably be had for a price, but does that price hurt us down the road. Are we building for the long haul, or a quick fix. |

Since Trotts became their coach, that has been their MO, and it is working nicely, to the tune of 10-3-0
That's a good team over there. |

A quick fix would be trading prospects and picks. We are talking about trading a position that is a surplus. |

Everyone recognizes Botts isn’t done building this team
Botts agenda moving forward as i see it:
-figure out which defensemen to keep & build with
-find 2 scoring wingers for the top9,
3 if we don’t keep MoJo after next year
-decide if Hutton is our goalie for another year or so while we wait for UPL
He’s already done A LOT of work putting this team together
Just needs some tweaking, and a couple more pieces |

They really need to stop trying to make that pretty pass, it's killing them, and teams are taking advantage of it. |

Maybe the GMs Botts is talking too view Risto like Sbroads does?

I understand that, but are you trading your surplus for a rental, or a player that will help now and into the future. |

I think everyone knows JB's thinking long term. They need to develop more talent. They can't trade their way into contention.

Does it have to be either/or?
Was Montour for the short-term, longterm, or both?
Was Jokiharju for the short-term, longterm, or both?
Was Miller for the short-term, longterm or both?
Trading for draft picks is for the longterm
Trading for players is for both, unless it is for a UFA many cases
Botts needs to get his car fixed, drive to Wegman's...and call in a pick-ups player along the way. |

Cozens will be here full time next year even if it means he’s starting off as a RW.
I also think we will eventually move a d-man for a forward as well it makes too much sense. |
