Thanks Coach - Buff36
Botts was reading HB and reviewing my desired player list with me....he elevated me to Associate GM - HB. Coach is so, blase.
You may call me SIR. |

Thank God, I knew I was talking to the MAN, you are doing a fine job SIR.
Just kidding around, actually hit the list pretty dead on, might tweak a few things, but not bad |

SO Okposo 2.0? - hubie
That’s not a terrible comparison
Btw...
Okposo scored 1 more goal that Toffoli did last year
Toffoli only had 13
And he’s getting healthy scratched by a team that could use scoring
I haven’t watched him play this year
But it seems like he might just be done |

From Spector's page yesterday:
"Kevin Fiala could be on shaky ground with the Minnesota Wild. The 23-year-old winger has been a healthy scratch twice this season. His talent and favorable contract should make him a good fit with the Wild but they’re going to see what out there in the trade market.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Fiala had a 23-goal, 48-point performance in 2017-18. If he can’t find his footing with the aging Wild he could regain his form with a younger club.
A slow start by forward Andreas Athanasiou could raise questions about his future with the Detroit Red Wings. He’s in a contract year and his previous negotiations were difficult.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman won’t be as patient as his predecessor. If Athanasiou doesn’t improve soon he could hit the trade block."
I know a lot of people have mentioned AA, but Fiala seems like a new name on the list of possible trade candidates. Could be a good pick up for the right price. I know LW isn't a big need for the team, but I wouldn't be opposed to sending Vesey back in a deal. - adambuffalo
Fiala is an interesting idea,
depending on what they’d want back |

Seems like a spot where we can send $Dman with a pick for him. See what a change of scenery would do.... Id dont see them getting much from him nor see him being resigned.
Its worth a shot but is it a shot worth it this early? |

Like i said, if Toffoli comes cheap, then ok
But I’d rather aim higher, bc it seems like he’s done
And if we do acquire him & he’s not good,
We’ll likely be stuck with his 4.6mil cap hit for the rest of the season
And that could prevent us from making another move that could help |

I don’t understand what ppl like so much about him either
All those Risto for Roslovic & Perrault trade proposals were horrible
I’m very glad Botts didn’t make that move |

did they get pushed around or something? i'd rather ask them if having anyone who can play defense is important
is boston tough? arent they one of the 5 smallest teams in the league? - robz228
that's the thing about Borgen...kid can skate, play defense and isn't afraid of physical play |

Yea Koivu makes sense. Seems like a deadline move though. Him or Staal. Minnesota seems ripe for the picking once Guerin figures out its a complete gong show (if he hasn’t already)
I like Zucker and think his speed would look good in this lineup. |

Drove me nuts how much GMTM ignored the position, especially drafting & development
Botts has done an outstanding job in acquiring talent, depth, and future prospects
Besides Borgen on the right side, Laaksonen is touted as a future NHLer
Pilut & Samuelsson on the left side still coming
And Kris Baker LOVES Ryan Johnson, 2019 pick31, for what it’s worth
Guys like Bryson, Hickey & Fitzgerald even have some possibilities as depth players for us if needed |

Scandella alone is kinda close to a wash.... send erod too and get some relief |

But if he doesn’t work, still stuck with that 4.6mil
Bc i doubt anyone takes Toffoli off our hands if he doesn’t do well here |

He still largely ignored the position
Do u feel he addressed it properly? |

I don't have a problem with him...similar stats to toffoli
not sure if he's tougher than tyler, though |

He’s fast & feisty
Would definitely rather Fiala than Toffoli
Did only score 13goals last year like Toffoli
But with his speed & style of play,
I think he could at least be an effective bottom6 guy if he can’t get back to being a 20goal scorer
If Toffoli can’t find the net again like he used to,
he doesn’t provide much else |

Right, that’s why i guess I’d be ok with it if he comes cheap
Still a gamble of getting stuck with a big Cap Hit if he doesn’t work out
Theres just other guys I’d much prefer |
