you get strome kane and adb in the dzone and they can't get the puck...
once again a team losing gets healthy vs the hawks... |
|
|
|
What player on this team even has the size or speed to play dump and chase outside of maybe Saad? Who the f is supposed to retrieve the puck on a line of Dcat Strome Kane?
I get to watch the Dzone on TV and don’t even know what the poop is going on. Can’t imagine how confusing it is on the ice. - bhawks2241
It's not even that, you watch the Sharks and they have great anticipation where the puck is, Hawks are lost constantly chasing |

This heavy dump and chase style has to go. Sorry but the Hawks aren’t built for it. It also is easy to defend since d-men are allowed to interfere and grab again. This would’ve been effective 4-5 years ago post strike when d-men couldn’t touch a forward and just had to turn and skate.
Sharks just taking full advantage of this crap man to man system too. Tons of picks and screens. Hawks have no idea who is supposed to cover who or when to pass off the puck career.
Keep pounding a square peg in a round hole. It will work eventually.....Hawks dump and chase strategy just ensures even more time pinned in our own zone. - bhawks2241
Something has to change since Rocky and McDonough will not tolerate an entire season of hockey this bad. You cannot fire all the players. You can make trades but would that really change the way they are playing?
Bowman better think about his future as GM if this mess continues into the holiday season. Actually by Thanksgiving we should be thankful for a coaching change.
Unless they change the their way of playing. It is probably going to be bad no matter what. They need to move on from Seabrook and you could argue Keith and Toews hurt more than help. But it is difficult to imagine Toews and Keith traded. |

Looks like we might win the lottery this year.
It must be tough to get paid that kind of money and play like poop. |

A misread of the text. When a forward comes into the area a defender is in, the defender controls the play in the area they are responsible for. They don’t play man to man at all. - Return of the Roar
Whatever Trotz' is, it's working. Islanders with 10 straight regulation wins after their victory over Orrawa tonight. |

Is it dump and chase - or not being able to make a couple of direct passes to move the puck up ice? - StLBravesFan
No idea what they are doing at practice but it seems like the majority of the time the structure is so bad there is no good passing option.
The dump and chase is part of the problem. The Hawks were fine last year on offense. They have more talent this year but for whatever reason the coaching staff and/or front office decided to change the style.
It isn’t working. The Hawks passing ability of its skilled players hasn’t suddenly disappeared.
The Hawks are doing nothing but chase the puck in both ends. An average team speed with almost no size and no heavy forecheck and they want to play a dump and chase style. It’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard except for trying to play Seabs in a man on man scheme. |

In his last 5 complete games, Jones has given up 4+4+3+5+3 and hasn’t come close to .900. |

So Sharpy called it "mindless play" - do you think McD and Rocky watch the games and the commentators between periods? They should. Even their captive media team is finding it hard to say anything positive. |

Because they know the Hawks are playing man to man and will chase the puck. Maintain possession for a bit and complete some cross ice passes and the Hawks will gas themselves puck chasing. Hawks also leave the points wide open which makes dumping the puck around rather easy.
This system requires every hawk player to know who to take and when to switch onto and off the puck career. It has to be flawlessly executed or the system breaks down. Hawks are trying to do this with d-men who are slow footed.
Keith is on record of saying players are out their thinking about what to do instead of reading and reacting. That’s a huge red flag. If you’re thinking you’re already half a stone behind. |

No shin pads. Maybe Keith could get a shot past those clowns...

That goal is on Seabrook - he had the puck on his stick and bobbled it away along the boards and a few seconds later Marleau scored. - EbonyRaptor
Really? Bobbled it on the boards or Carpenter - who was 100% the outlet and his responsibly to 1) be at the boards and 2) get it out was the one that fumbled the puck. Then was lazy getting back to the slot where the shot came from....but Seabrook was on the ice =his fault
I learned as a forward in pee wees my outlet responsibilities |

I doubt if Bowman admits he made a mistake by firing Colliton. (BTW tomorrow the one year anniversary of JC's hiring.) Stan is between a rock and a hard place...won't fire the coach and can't fire the team. |

Do you think they'll ever get it, or will they be over thinking the game all year (until JC is fired)? |

8 shots on goal through two periods... a shorty... when are these jerkoffs gonna wake up and make a change from top to bottom... McD and company still want to sell you on this bulls*** ‘one goal idea’ to sell tickets... they don’t have a clue anymore.. I don’t know what it’s going to take to make a change... Rocky had the balls 12 years ago.... maybe he needs to grow a pair now |

There is nothing that Colliton does that helps this team. What assets does he bring as a head coach? Besides selling the front office on his “system”. |

The only thing that counts is that he's Stan's boy.

To give them the balls to pull the trigger on JC or because you think they should hire him? |
