Good to see he’s dominating as expected
I wonder if he & Reinhart talked at all about how he went back to Juniors and what he did to get ready to play in the NHL?

When YOU'RE "ROR perfect", you can comment.
Otherwise, you're just the Kirk Cousins of Hockeybuzz. |

Asplund should see some time this year as a call up
Pekar seems to play a style that could fit a bottom6 role too, but he’s a couple years away
But even once they’re here full time,
idk that it’s reasonable to think they can handle a heavy defensive load right away
That’s just a lot to ask
Wouldn’t be surprised if Lazar sees some time up here this year in the bottom6
But idk if he’s gonna factor in much here going forward?
As far as the Top9 moving forward goes,
“Core” guys include Jack, Sam, Skinner, Mitts & Cozens, and most likely Olofsson
Johansson is here for another year after this, but seems like he could be a guy that sticks around for a few years after that
Tage might be the only other guy with a shot at locking down a top9 role
That’s 7 or 8 out of 9,
depending how Tage works out
Ppl seem to think a trade will be made to get another scoring winger,
but maybe we use some of the coming Cap Space we will have to go after a UFA
Taylor Hall would be the obvious prize after this year
And while I’m sure many teams would be interested,
I’m guessing only a handful could actually afford him
And how many of them have a bright looking future like us?
Still might be a long shot
But it could be a scenario that Botts is looking at - jdfitz77
I haven't done the math, but I read somewhere that after most replacements to the pending UFA's are made, it is expected that the Sabres will have around $8m in available space to use on adding 1 or 2 players. It isn't a ton of room, and of course the actual number will vary according to who is resigned, who else is acquired, and which guys in Roch earn a promotion.
I'm not a huge proponent of going after Hall as he'll be 30 next season, his 1st year of the new contract, coupled with an expected high AVV. Does that really fit the Sabres timeline and Cap utilization, or does it become a boat anchor when the Sabres contender window opens?
I think a hockey trade is the way to go for top 6, and use FA as a way to bring in more cost efficient player in the bottom 6. |

Taylor hall turns 28 on Nov 14th. But I agree, age is a consideration for the length of contract it would take to sign him. And we simply don’t have the cap space considering Dahlin will need to be signed the next season.
So many people act like we have so much money to play with this upcoming season. We have next to none until Okposo comes off the books. |

good teams spend their money down the middle, centers and d men
not on 3 wingers
getting hall is not the blueprint for long term success unless your moving reinhart |
