Now that we have seen a decent number of games and the impact that Krueger has made on the team from a player friendly system and player engagement/buy-in, which of the impending FA's would you consider resigning from:
-Vesey
-Reinhart
-Sobotka
-Sheary
-Larry
-Larry's brother Larry
-Scandella
-Montour

For me
-Montour
-Reinhart
-maybe, maybe Girgenson (Larry's brother Larry)

At this point, I would be actively searching for trade partners on the rest...I don't care if they are tied for 7th in the East on TDL day.

- IonSabres

Good post ion- well thought out

Sam at the right price. They cant pay him big $.
Sheary for the right price. He adds playoff experience.
Larry and his other brother Larry (girgs)
I'd sign both and keep them with okposo
Montour on the premise of his age and what we gave up for him.

Shoot erod to the moon

Or more likely the ahl.

I only go to the one downtown. I assume it’s still there. Really fresh.

My work caters from there every so often, which is when I started going. I became a fan. I usually do a brown rice bowl with Steak or Chicken and Dill Sauce.

if sheary is cheap and is on the 3rd line i could go either way on him too..
- SabresFaninIndiana

True, plus its his guy... but have a feeling he would test the market and get more than hes worth imo
figure to resign he will make more than he makes now.... I think 3 mill is a stretch as it is and to put an increase on tip is tough

The question for me is..... is it good enough to seek out? IM not close to any of them really and there are other good Mediterranean places near me.

It was Larry, Darryl and Darryl.

Sorry, been bothering me since the first time I saw Larry and his other brother Larry.

Yeah, first time UFA. First real chance to test free agency. He's a Massachusetts guy, would he take less to play for the Bruins?

It's the only Mediterranean place I've gone too, unless you count Pita Gourmet (I don't). If there are other good places near you, perhaps it isn't worth it though I am not sure where you are.

Just Newhart. I don't think they were on the Bob Newhart Show.

I forgot signing mojo too

Resigned eichel to a great team friendly deal
Resigned sam to a low deal
Resigned skinner
Promoted goaloffson
Signed johannsson
Traded for sheary
Tested for vesey

Drafted 2 top 8 forwards the last 2 drafts
Traded for sobotka and Thomson
Resigned lockport brothers
Berglund quit

Foolishly resigned erod

Top 6 type prospects
Tage
Cozens

What is he neglecting again? Forwards?

Lazar and cozens looked good enough for everyone to want them to make the team out of camp

Seems like he addressed the forwards.
Stuck with okposo

- Boss34

You're really criticizing him for qualifying ERod? That was an automatic thing to do.

He hasn't addressed the wingers long term, and I'm sure it was intentional. The ones he has acquired are stop gaps. The D is restocked and the C's are in good shape. Those were clearly his priority.

However, I do agree here.

When you see an opportunity to effectively win a trade, you take it immediately, regardless of the return. The fact that Botterill used an underachieving winger to acquire a young, already solid defenseman, is already a win. Regardless of the org depth at wing. It's not like he's taking young Ryan Johanson and trading him for Seth Jones. He's taking a roll of pennies and buying a high end stock.

Criticizing him for this particular move is ludicrous. Depth should have zero to do with it when it's an investment for investment swap, especially when the early returns show that the Sabres are the ones making out here.

- TheSabresTaco

I'm not criticizing him for that move. It's the culmination of all the factors I named

I’d put $$ on the Browns all day. Until Allen can connect on some deep throws this offense is so 1dimensional. And their D hasn’t found a fix for the loss of Harrison Philips.
- Pairo11

I agree with this.

However, maybe a HEAVY dose of Singletary for the rest of the season could be our saving grace ?

The Cap wasn't the only reason. Murray decimated the depth here. When Botts came in, he didn't have a whole ton to work with. Hard to make trades when you don't have much worth trading.

Now, that's not to say that he hasn't made some moves that have been a bit odd (like trading draft picks to move up a few spots, especially when you don't have a ton of depth to begin with). But his first year he really had very little to work with. Rochester was abysmal and the cupboards were relatively bare.

Sam IMO is going to get about $7M, depending on the amount of FA years they buy. I'm ok with that if he gets close to 70 pts this year...he needs to ick it up slightly, on pace for 60sh...but we have seen him turn it on in the 2nd half for a couple years now.

Sheary is a meh for me...you're right, at the right price is key...$2M max

yes it was on Nwehart, great show!

Larry and his borther Larry was coined in here as part of the Lockport Larry, and the Lockport twins ... that stemmed from Beady's post going off on the city of Lockport.
Maybe you missed it, it was last year sometime.

Not really criticizing botts as much.

I'm pointing out the fact to jgrags that of all the forwards that botts did address, the one that looks like a bad move, is indeed extending erod for 2 million.

Pommer is ready

not only that but he moved up to pick players way off the board that would have been there if he just stayed put
- SabresFaninIndiana

I wonder if he and Rutherford and others got burned in a draft or two before by waiting on a prospect until their next turn.
We have seen some eyebrow raising selection...
Moritz Seider as an example, I'm sure there are others in later rounds.

For about 2 weeks, and then he'll need the arthritis meds again, which more than likely contain a banned substance anyway.

Sam is gonna be a tough decision. 7m is star $.
I'm not paying him that.
The upside we have been talking about should level out soon. Looks like a 60-65 point player.
I have liked his physical play. Showing some toughness. He was slashing in a stick battle behind the play vs the islanders. Came up and wacked the guy back. Good to see. 1st guy in a few times too lately.

Sheary is a 3+ most likely. Tage and cozens can take sobatka and shearys spots.

Larry - darell and Darrell okposo on the 4th.

Jack sam goaloffson
Skinner mojo tage

My line of thinking was that Botteril focused on defense to start his drafting tenure in buffalo as they typically take a little longer to develop into NHL talent than forwards.

The thinking being draft a number of young defense prospects first, allow them their extra couple years of development and then hopefully drafted forward prospects and defense prospects are ready for the big show at the same time.

- Shadman306

I 100% agree with this. To further your point, more money will be spent in keeping/bringing in offensive producers therefore we will need guys who play above their pay grade on the backend.

😀

I agree, he had a tough time keeping up.

They really could have used pommer though vs. The islanders.

He clicked with eichel.

Vesey is there to break his slump? It seemed forced and not a natural fit.

Sorry bro. E-Rod was a no brainer and should be playing over Slowbotka. Furthermore, you can't say giving up a 3rd for Vesey isn't worse than signing an RFA to a cheap, low term deal. It's not even close actually.

And Pommer without Jack is worse than both IMO. He only got slower as the year went on. Love the guy, not sure why we're still putting him on a pedestal because he scored some goals with Jack.
