I want to see what tage can do ..... it’s a free move ( a call up). We have nothing to lose.
- Sabretooth9

I agree with your premise they have nothing to lose, and actually they should try multiple options like they did Saturday. Test it out.
That said, I wouldn't expect much change from Thompson since last year after what, only15 -20 games? He needs to use his size, more physicality and grow into his body for better control and leverage. I just don't believe than can be accomplished in such a short period of time...but, what the hell, take a gander.

So EK posting Sabres are interested in AA with Detroit.

I know his rumors seldom come true, but I am hoping their is discussion between Botts and Stevie Y.

AA is off to a rough start, landing in the doghouse and playing on the 4th line last night I believe..or at least that was the threat. He potted his 1st goal of the season while the Wings were shellacked.

He could be a nice fit with Skinner and Mojo ...and slide down onto line 3 if/when one of Mitts or Cozens grabs to 2C spot.

That's some high level conspiracy theory right there.

Housley was considered by most "in the know" to be the most qualified candidate available. They happened to be wrong. I really don't think it goes any further than that.

- buffalofan19

Yeah the other option was Rick Tocchet who hated his young, most talented player so much he got him traded to the Hawks where he immediately blew up. Does that sound like the kind of guy we want around a young team?

And all of that isn't enough.

The bolded are mediocre at best. Are we re-signing any of them?

And are you really giving Botterill credit for letting Olofsson make the team? What?

The forwards have been neglected by Botterill from the draft, to the prospect ranks and the NHL level. Find me a worse 2RW in the league than Sobotka

Dreger on Insider trading said Botterill has “started shopping” for a top 6 and bottom 6 forward.

Let’s get it on

I'm happy to hear this. I don't want to wait too long to make an improvement to the forwards. After Sweden, I'd be curious to see what SSTT would do on a callup. He's seemingly the best of the Amerk forwards.

Yeah I was over there talking to a couple posters, trying to see what it would take, Risto for AA, I was told I overvalued Risto.

That's like the Blackhawks people throwing shade at Buffalo about Lehner's comments in which he also calls the Hawks awful defensively.

It was Larry, Darryl and Darryl.

Sorry, been bothering me since the first time I saw Larry and his other brother Larry.

Wonder how long it will take before they are willing to sit anyone other than ERod.

He has no choice, unless he’s gunning for Byfield.

We're playing some pretty strong teams coming up, so I don't anticipate keeping up the pace they've established. Someone will get hurt or slump and a tweak will be welcomed.

Ya, I saw you in there as I was there as well.
Someone in there made I thought a spot on comment about Rusto being ok if used properly, like as a 2nd or 3rd pairing, cutting back minutes and playing him offensively (Ozone starts, with top offensive players) and on the PP. He had it right IMO.
Others wouldn't take Risto straight up for AA...talke about overvaluing 1 good gear from AA so far, lol. I suggested it might be more like McCabe or Scandella 1:1 for AA based on AA's entire book of work, not just last year. He is poopting the bed hard so far this year, but I'd still take him for the right price.

Evander Kane being sued by the Cosmopolitan for $500K in unpaid markers.

Just going to leave it here. He hasn't gotten his share of hate in about 3 weeks.

Now that we have seen a decent number of games and the impact that Krueger has made on the team from a player friendly system and player engagement/buy-in, which of the impending FA's would you consider resigning from:
-Vesey
-Reinhart
-Sobotka
-Sheary
-Larry
-Larry's brother Larry
-Scandella
-Montour

For me
-Montour
-Reinhart
-maybe, maybe Girgenson (Larry's brother Larry)

At this point, I would be actively searching for trade partners on the rest...I don't care if they are tied for 7th in the East on TDL day.

Sam, easily
Montour, even though we haven’t seen him much

And i get that ppl want good “4th liners” that can score too,
but isn’t that pretty rare?
They’re one of the best 4th lines in the league
Gotta re-sign for at least another year
Both Larsson & Girgs

If at some point Asplund (or whoever) earns time on the roster & PROVES they can fill one of their roles better, then ok... great
But it doesn’t make sense to ship one of them off on guess that a rookie can come up & handle their role, much less do it better

As fun as it is to see the Sabres players try to say common phrases in Swedish, I am ready for a game.

Pecar seems like a natural fit there, maybe even higher up in the lineup...but he's still a couple years away for sure. And yes, Asplund seems like another who could excel in that role, I would think he should be ready to go next season, but I agree, he needs to earn it, not just have it given to him.
I haven't looked at the FA list yet to see who might be available for those 4th line roles, but I would like a guy with some edginess to insert there.
Also, I would like to see Lazar get a chance there for some games, just to see what he has to offer there.

I'm ok with the Sabres never participating in these Global Series again.
Really screwed-up the schedule.
Hopefully Krueger and Staff take advantage of the additional practice time available to clean-up their game and get back to the style and pace they came with earlier in the season.
