Really?? Watching Hank, I thought it was about 2007!!
Tough one for you, for sure. Can't do anything about a goalie catching fire. That has been a truth in this league for 100 years. - Tonybere
lol it's not just Hank, they literally probably should have won the past 2 nights by about 10 combined goals.

Dude was outstanding.
(frank)ing Panarin did absolutely nothing all game except score.
I'm starting to think this Lundqvist guy isn't a bad goalie. - Queenie_5_hole
next year, it just doesn't make sense to sign Georgiev to a new contract for like 3-4 million next year, still have Lundqvist for another year at 8.5 million in a year they'll have Shattenkirk at a 6 million penalty on the buyout
Next year, Lundqvist's last season, it makes sense to have him at 8.5 mil and Shesty at 925K
Georgiev is going to be traded eventually, I'd be shocked if he's still here next year

This is probably correct although I rather have shesty/George.
I agree completely. But a few days ago we had a few posts about how untenable a situation this goaltending situation would become. It was a little funny. - climbdenali12
Only way he may leave, is if he continues to play great like last night and a "true" contender loses their goalie and wants him at deadline for playoff run. He might then consider it, but the fact that he won't be able to attend next year's NYC Fall Fashion Show might make that a hard decision

At what point will we start to hear the: "I'm upset I'm not playing" from Georgie?
More importantly, what is the response going to be? This may get uncomfortable... - climbdenali12

Overall dead cap hits will total only about 2.5M more than this season (Shatty +5, Girardi -2.5). The Cap increase will cover that.

I don't see him going anywhere either. It's a shame the price for his staying will be Georgi leaving. No way Shesty stays in Hartford past Christmas, I'm sure hes already getting itchy, they have to be concerned he'll pull a krastov.

I think this is on upper management to get these young guys to understand and buy into the process. Toronto did it a few years ago and kept all their young guys on the Marlies and won a Calder cup.
I think Kratsov was more cultural than actual playing...i mean the dude had trouble going to get a haircut. Shesty is bit older and should be better able to handle the cultural changes as well as understanding his place in the organization.

As with Kratzov, I am curious if going back to the KHL keeps their ELC from eating a year off it?
