If Sobotka is long term, he could go on LTIR. Until Bogo returns, there's really no point. Unless one of them is out for the season, we're just talking temporary money. It let's us call guys up, but it's not doing much more than that. When your LTIR guys are healthy, you have to get under the cap.

It does. With Bogo on LTIR how much more room do you really need to make your moves? If you really need access to 8.5m, how are you ever getting back under the cap?

Can't believe i'm replying to this - but anyway, although technically not an illegal hit, Drury's head wasn't down - watch again. Nor was he "admiring his pass" as people like to say. Nobody admires a pass ... they pass the puck and most of the time watch to see if it connects to the recipients stick. The hit - in real time - was less then a second after it left Drury's stick - no time to "admire a pass". I agree that it was a legal hit where neither Neil's elbow or shoulder pad connected with the head. However, the force of the jolt cause Drury to spin to the ice, head first. Head to ice caused the bleeding.

Basically that's a lot of words to say my main point of "his head wasn't down".

Zero payback on Kucherov - a nice clean hit to lay him out flat would be "notice" given, as well as the emotional bump it should have given the Sabres bench. Delivered early, it could have set the tone.

And true to form, there was zero response to the Eichel hit except from our leading goal scorer.
