I still hear nothing other then moving the usual suspects for prospects/picks to put us in a better cap position to finish the year
the hope for the season additions are pilut, thompson and maybe borgen in a pinch
not a 4 to 7 million dollar a year player - homiedclown
Cue the cherry-picking crybaby on how Botts just needs to “get it done”
Maybe Botts could call GMTM & ask how to make some crazy deals out of desperation?
I bet that would help us out a lot
Let’s just overpay for _________ |

Right. Because being 3rd in 5 on 5 goals from 2016-2018 to only McDavid and Matthews isn’t enough.
But the past 42 games tell all - sbroads24
The reason botts paid skinner is because he scores goals. I'd say as skinner goes the Sabres go.
He needs to get going again. All scorers go thru it. |

Power play goals count the same as even strength goals, assists do matter. He doesn’t kill penalties, can’t be trusted on defensively.
Skinner is a volume shooter, he better score because if he doesn’t what good would that be ?
I’ll tell you what, it would be the equivalent to an NFL offence that throws the ball 80% of the time and averages between 15-19 points. |

It’s a shame you have such a delusional opinion on Skinner because I do agree with you about a lot of things.
Because the bolded is just plain out there.
You claimed Skinner doesn’t make players better, yet Johansson had the best start he’s had maybe in his entire career with him, Jack Eichel has been less effective 5 on 5 this year without him.
He made Victor Rask a viable top 9 center for 2 years he was his primary center and now shockingly, Carolina moved him and Minnesota has him as a healthy scratch at times.

Skinner is 9th in the league in SOG. He gets the puck and shoots. He has no play making ability. If he didn’t score the only thing he would do well is draw penalties.
I don’t see how the bolded doesn’t make sense. A volume shooter who can’t score would be as useful as a pass oriented NFL offence that doesn’t score points. Makes sense to me. |

As much as I’ve been on record not liking Tage,
he’s playing well enough in Rochester that he’s gonna get another chance up here
Interesting that they moved Mitts to the wing like you’ve been calling for
But then they moved Skinner down to “line3”
Maybe put him back up with MoJo & Mitts?

No I’m making a metaphorical comparison between two different sports and I thought you would read between the lines and understand it.
Skinner is a volume shooter who is shooting at an 11.3% clip which is slightly above the NHL average. If that percentage were to dip for whatever reason he would not be very useful (one goal and one point in the last 7 games useful).
A volume shooter who doesn’t pass much needs to score or what good are they ?
Much like if you are going to have an NFL offence that throws the ball as much as the Bills do, the QB throwing for 300 + yards should be a given every Sunday or else your going to have an offence that scores 15-19 points a week.
Now my previous post may make more sense. |

I took you people as a rant to those not buying/wearing the poppy
he was all over the place trying to get his desire to support the troops out there
they flip it into a racist statement with the focus on "you people"
you could clearly tell he was passionate and trying to get as much out in his rant as his limited time allowed
pretty sure if the puppet had asked him to clarify, he would have cleaned it up
instead the puppet gave him a thumbs up
then I watched some canadian news
one of their "offensive" rants from his past was
'I like america, they have always had our backs"
how the f@ck is this offensive?
then some middle east female sports journalist went on a rant, like AOC, no facts, no flow
then an interview with a muslim who's contribution was talking about his grandfathers serving for canada
not him, his grandfathers
pretty f'd up - homiedclown
It is a f'd-up world we live in no doubt.
Lots acting like little snowflakes, all but hurt

The weird thing is you act like he’s the NHL’s worst passer.
He still averages more assists than 75% of the league.
Scores more goals than 95% of the league.
Yet your metaphor is that he’s somehow inefficient?

Six, count 'em 6 fvcking defensive forwards on this team who are struggling to get on pace for 15-20 points, but let's single out the only 40 goal guy the Sabres have had since 1842.

He is an elite goal scorer that averages 55 points a season.
Every other elite goal scorer gets 80+ points unless your Cam Atkinson.
Jeff has to score goals, if he shoots that much and doesn’t score he would be a 35-40 point player and fit in with your every day top 9 forward.
In terms of the other end of my metaphor, although it’s not Allen’s fault, his OC decides to throw the ball more then almost every other team in the NFL. When your entire offence is predicated on the pass, in a league where if a defender breathes on a receiver there is a flag, 300 + yards and a few touchdowns should be a given every Sunday.
If Skinner doesn’t score often as a volume shooter, he’d be a 35-40 point player. When Skinner isn’t scoring he gets 1 point in 7 games.
Allen is a volume passer who hasn’t been getting the results one should get with an offence that throws the ball that often hence why you guys struggle putting 20+ points on a weekly basis.
Now, the Bills can choose to run the ball more, which decreases the pass volume and can be another form of offence.
If Jeff Skinner goes in a scoring slump but was adding assists in that time frame I wouldn’t of wasted the ink it took to rant about this subject.
He played with Eichel for almost 3/4 of a season last year and had 23 assists. |

They are a problem too, who said they weren’t ?
What is nice though is that all of them have expiring contracts.
I don’t know what that has to do with questioning return on investment on a long term contract.

I get what u mean,
but u might as well just drop the football analogy
As for Skinner...
just about all goal scorers go through ups & downs throughout the season
It’s only a matter of time before we see him score 5 in 7 games (or something like that)
We still need more consistent secondary scoring
Maybe that’s why Ralph shook up the lines the other day? |

No.
I have gone to my share of Bill's games over the years and had loads of fun.
Just not interested in going anymore.
I wouldn't even go if it was a playoff game in Tampa, only 45 minutes away. |
